5 Eggs - 6 Birds?

Featured Replies

Well Georgie and Bruce had origanlly 6 eggs, one cracked as it was kicked out of the box, (egg No.5) and there were definately only five there.

Well on the 21st April I noticed one broken egg shell at 7.30 AM and I saw a new baby exactly 18 days after it was laid. At 10 AM I checked again as it was a very cold day. there were 4eggs and two babies. :P

To make sure I was not hallucinating, I asked some of the plumbers and electrician that were working here to check, and as I had numbered my eggs they notice 2, 3, 4, 6 were still there.

I did not post this earlier as I wanted to wait until they were fully feathered to check their colours ad they look identical, white head, white wings with black markings, and grey under.

Will try to get pics in a while

The other four, two greys, one green , last one is yellow? he is not fully feathered yet

Thanks. Its a pity they would not stay still for the camera.

I Think the 'twins' are going to be big birds, their heads are huge compared to the others

I did not want to pick them up as I have a nasty head cold and was scared I might sneeze on them. :( and I don't think that would be very healthy for them.

that last picture of the i assume mom or dad peeking thru the door was adorable!

Yes, that is Mom looking through the door, and the other greys have grey heads

Lovey, so far they look identical, and both love to hide under the smaller siblings. I'm sure they are saying...."stuff you lot, we were here first"

Thanks Daz,

One has been out twice so far, and both are as big as Mom. Actually their heads seem rather large for their ages, but it might be my eyesight :D

I hope they survive as I will be neglecting them a bit for a while - see off topic chatter
