Posted May 17, 200619 yr If I have a pure blue male and a green split blue female, does all the female chicks be pure blue and all the male chicks be green split blue? And what if the male has also yellowface? Edited May 18, 200619 yr by Legolas
May 17, 200619 yr non of those mutations are sex linked like opaline, cinnamon or ino. 50% blues 50% greens split to blue As for the yellow face gene it is dominant gene and I am still getting this gene done pack because you can have a doublefactor yellow faced bird but visually the bird's face is white. So with the white faced birds (someone can correct me if I am wrong) unless you know the history they could be a doublefactor yellow faced. Hope that makes sense. You will get yellow-faced birds. May 19, 200619 yr The model is missing a step or something.. I think it should also connect 1&2.. as well as 3&4.. making a BB(XX) blue male and GB (XY) Green/Blue female.. then it would be more accurate .. but Lovey's correct.. gender doesn't play a role in this one. Gb X bb = Gb, Gb, bb, bb.. 50% Green split for blue.. and 50% blue
May 19, 200619 yr I think the model is just putting in a female or male but not saying that it is sex-linked, where did you get that model? Was it on the net?
May 20, 200619 yr Green and Blue matings 1. Green to Blue = 100% Green/Blue 2.. Blue to Blue = 100% Blue 3. Green/Blue to Blue = 50% Green/Blue + 50% Blue 4. Green/blue to Green/blue = 25% Blue + 25% Green + 50% Green/Blue 5. Green to Green/Blue = 50% Green + 50% Green/Blue
May 20, 200619 yr It was in a book. I don't remember the name. It was something: Budgerigars - a complete guide. I found it in the library. It can also be that I have understood it wrong or something. Edited May 20, 200619 yr by Legolas
