Posted May 13, 200619 yr So first there was Goofy diving in head first for the food bowl..... And now, I got these two new little babies, I didn't think they both could possibly fit into a tiny little foodbowl together... well guess I was very wrong!!!! Unlike Goofy, they don't even care that I'm right there in front of them taking photos. I can touch them, and even move the bowl around without them coming out of the bowl!! Though Blondie thinks that the inside of the cage is a better place to stay, Skate certainly didn't care less about the moving bowl!!! Here he is about three feet away from his cage... I originally thought that may be it's that particular foodbowl... but nope... Check out Goofy's new dig!!! (Laughing out loud) He absolutely loves it in there!! Here's a closeup of the little Goofster!! okay, hope you enjoyed the pics.. cheers Cheeta and the flock.
May 13, 200619 yr ha ha thats so cute!!! I think it must be a baby thing because Oscar has been doing exactly the same!!!
May 14, 200619 yr They have good training at the Budgiebird Hilton in "foodbowl manners" http://media.putfile.com/bread-23[/img]
May 14, 200619 yr Author :budgiedance: thanks. They are both very funny. I thought I had better put in two food bowls since they keep kicking seeds out of that one from diving in and staying in there.. well to my 'horror' this morning when I work up, both seeds foodbowl were filled with budgie tail sticking right up in the air, and the seeds, well they are all at the bottom of the cage under the grate.... I think I need a bowl like Goofy's new dig... harder to kick the seed out!!! (Laughing out loud)
May 14, 200619 yr (Laughing out loud)! My budgie was doing the same thing. I took some pics but somehow i deleted them.
May 15, 200619 yr Author I Love it but I hope they don't do that in the water dish.. So far so good... No drown birdies yet!!!
May 15, 200619 yr I Love it but I hope they don't do that in the water dish.. :fear So far so good... No drown birdies yet!!! :ausb: Great
May 15, 200619 yr thats too cute! i always wondered how many can fit into one bowl!!! (Laughing out loud)
May 18, 200619 yr (Laughing out loud), what is it with babies and food bowls? Mine do that too and they get yellow heads from it (they normally have white heads) -Shann
May 19, 200619 yr :hap: Those are so funny! AH! Maybe you should fill their dishes up a bit higher though so they don't have to eat upside-down! :(Laughing out loud): I always bought my birds the egg biscuit dishes, the long, shallow ones to put food in. I find that they're better than the deep ones because they only ever go through about three tablespoons of the seed that's on top anyhow. That's a whole lot of seed I was throwing away when I was filling those huge, deep dishes! I fill those egg biscuit dishes and though I still have to throw about half of it out it's better than before. Maybe you should give that a go, unless you like waking up to budgie butts! :(Laughing out loud): I wish I could have seen mine doing that though. That's so funny!
May 19, 200619 yr Author you know may be you guys are right, may be it is a baby thing, but i've only had one other baby do that in the food bowl!! Karenh... it's not because they want to eat the seeds that's in it.. that bowl is in fact empty these days. i've put in a big big container in there with seeds they eat out of that, but never stick their butt up like that. they just love to stay in there like that! it's just odd, there's no food there anymore, but they still go back to it to stick their butt right up in the air!!! (Laughing out loud)... oh what to do, what to do... :hap:
May 19, 200619 yr I'm sorry......I thought I trained them the right way for their new homes . I must have done it upside down
May 20, 200619 yr :(Laughing out loud): I thought they were eating out of those dishes! AH! What strange little things you have!!! You know, Bijou does something that's rather embarassing, but it's quite similar to what your birds do... He... um... well, when I wear a low-cut shirt, he puts his head down my shirt and hangs upside down from the collar with his little rear sticking right up int he air. He rests his back right against my chest and will stay there for quite a while. It's so strange... Maybe our birds like being in dark places... upside-down... I would post a picture but I wouldn't want to be kicked off the forum for off colour budgie material! :(Laughing out loud):
