Well first let me introduce myself. I'm new to these forums although i have come across it while searching google. I finally found out how to get a non-free email adress (thanks Bea). I have had my Young female budgie for 1 month now. I bought her as a hand fed budgie (cost me extra) She is fairly tame and wings are clipped.

 

Every day i try to take her out of the cage and play with her on my finger a lot. Lately i have putting her on my shoulder while im on the computer and put a sheet over the cage. She just sits there she was never really scared because i got her tame. While on the ground she will go on anyones finger as long as it is available right in front of her.

 

I just wanted to know what i could do to have a bond between each other. I dont really like to use treats because they're not healthy. What can i do for her to like me?

 

I've had a little bit of progress. When i try to take her out of the cage sometimes she won't turn around and jump right back in anymore. Before she would always jump right back of if i finally got her on my finger. :ygbudgie: She has has become more comfortable coming out of the cage when i put her on my finger.

 

What everyday things can i do to increase the bond?

I think you are doing a fantastic job so far. It's nice that you are not bribing her with treats and she has bonded so well with you so far. I would say keep it up, be with her as much as possible, and the bond will grow more each day.

Just curious, what did you mean by a sheet over the cage? Totally covering it so she cant go back home?

okay thanks, i was covering it so she can't see it. I have tons of picture on the other forums im also part of ill post some soon. Her name is Mavish (Mavi=blue in Turkish)

yes, she'll learn that being on you is a safe place while learning all the sights & sounds
