Broken Back!

Featured Replies

I would like to thanks this post and share my experience to avoid future trauma.

We had a tamed budgie 9 months ago, magnetic to all family members and do not like spend 1 min in the cage except eating and sleeping.

Kids like to play with them and the budgie like to involve and he may think he is human as well I believe.

This morning 8:55 am my daughter accidentally step on him and reported to me immediately. When I saw him, he still alive and walking on the ground. could not fly. I hold him and called avian doctor to the 9:45 am appointment right away. He closed his eye and seems sleeping, and open his eye sometimes, trying to move the wings, not good feeling for me.

Arrived the clinic 9:30 am and doctor did the assessment and give him injection and put into warm incubator immediately. Unfortunately passed away on 11:30 am for internal bleeding and spine injury

Very sad and hope other budgie owners aware the danger

When I was at the clinic, I google" back injury budgie" and find this post.

Hope same magic could happened to my bluebell as well, but didn't

Even my doctor told me at the beginning, if he could survive until afternoon, that will be a good sign otherwise prognosis is poor.
