Hi, I'm a recent budgie owner and about a year ago we had a standard green female budgie fly into our neighbors garage and after posting in the "found pets" and checking the lost pet boards at pet stores and craigslist we decided to keep her. We got a cage and another budgie to keep her company. Well a couple more budgies later and a much larger cage; here we are. The kids and I are very fond of them but my wife has mixed feelings. She likes them, but they can get loud. The spend weekends in the garage sometimes. Nice attached garage, doubles as my shop, not as bad as it sounds. Fry, the grey bodied one is very attached to me, and likes to be handled, scratched and doesn't mind me holding him in my hands. He'll crawl through my hands, hang upside down, fly up to my shoulder and flock call in my ear. The kids get a kick out of it. From left to right they are: Leela Turanga, Lord Nibbler, Philip J. Fry, and Bender Rodriguez. They get along well and are pretty friendly. They will all jump on your finger and come out of the cage with no issue, but the female isn't fond of it. I just got a call this morning from a friend that a yellow parakeet was in her yard and not doing so well. I went over and was able to just pick him up. He looked really rough. I took him home and cleaned him up. His vent was a mess and I had to trim his beak a little bit. It had a little funky thing hanging down. Nothing major but I was worried it would affect eating. I setup a small cage for him and he went crazy on the water and food and promptly took a nap. He could barely stand and kept falling over. I was thinking this would be short lived but a couple hours later he was up on a perch. He looks healthy otherwise and droppings look normal. Not sure if its a DF Spangle or a Dark Eye Clear. There is no iris, but he looks like a juvenile. So not sure. Not sure if its a male or female either, just assuming. Any thoughts? I'm not sure if I should post in another section about him, but I didn't want to shotgun post. I'm hoping he recovers okay and I'm going to keep him quarantined for the time being. He's a beautiful bird. The last picture is after a couple hours of food and rest. I would like to get a little better pics, but I figured he'd had a rough time of it already without me sticking my phone in his face. lol Cheers! Rob
