Budgie With Skin Patches Under Wings
Thanks, he is getting pin feathers around his head so I'm sure it's just a moult. Hopefully some new feathers will appear under his wings soon.

Bird Plucking Feathers And Molt
Hello Almost three months ago, I got my first budgie Blu. I've noticed that under his wings, there are patches with little or no feathers on them. I'm guessing he is plucking his feathers out because he seems to 'groom' himself a lot. He is still very young, has four toys in his cage, gets let out daily, has training sessions with me daily and is currently on a seed based diet. How do I stop this feather plucking? Also, he has recently had his first Molt because I've noticed pin feathers on his head and around his face. But I don't think the skin patches under his wings have anything to do with the Molt because they've been there since I've had him. Anyway, when I started seeing the pin feathers, two long feathers were on the ground of his cage, ( is this normal? ) one was clean at the bottom and one had blood on it at the bottom ( is that normal? ). I remember he used to have a long dark tourquise looking tail feather within a group of tail feathers right in the middle of the group, but now that really long tourquise looking tail feather has fallen out! Are tail feathers meant to fall out, or is he plucking them out? As you can proberly tell, I'm new to birds and have a lot of questions. I'm really afraid that all of his tail feathers will fall out, since two have fallen out already and he is still only 3-5 months old. Please help, any answers or tips will be greatly appreciated. Thanks

Budgie With Skin Patches Under Wings
Hi, About a month and a half ago I got my first budgie which I named Blu. Blu is a very energetic, personality full, but shy around new people budgie. He has become a big part of my everyday routine, and is slowly becoming more tame and enjoys siting on my shoulder. Recently I've seen quite small (at least for now) skin patches underneath his wings around what I would imagine the arm pit area. I've managed to book a vet appointment, but it's in a weeks time. He seems to peck there quite often and there's been small feathers around the cage ever since I've got him ( there is usually six - ten feathers there daily ). I'm not sure if it's normal or not, how to treat it or what it is. So if you could answer those questions or/and more I would appreciate it greatly. I'm worried about him because I don't have any experience with birds since he is my first, and as I said he is a big part of my life. I love him to pieces and he is getting lots of treats for Christmas. Including a cage almost three times the size of the one he is currently in, and the most exciting part, a budgie buddy (when I feel he is tame). I'm afraid he will get very sick and the feathers will drop out at a scary pace. But also that I won't be able to get him his friend I've been waiting for since I've got blu. Please help! P.S any answers, tips, things I should know and extras would be greatly appreciated.
