Twitching Leg
It might be the perch. It looks very smooth and skinny. Try changing the perch and see what happens. At first glance I thought she was a she due to the white area around the nostrils. Have you thought of a name for her yet? Maybe 'Twitchy' ! :lightbulb:

APR It looks like my budgie Violet is trying to hide from yet another photo shoot. I can just imagine her thinking to herself, "Not another one!" Can we ask people to resubmit a photo that was from an earlier month ( that didn't win previously) if we like it ?

Mutations Of Budgies?
amum4children replied to amum4children's post in a topic in Budgie Mutations, Varieties and GeneticsHere is a good photo of Snowflake without the flash. It shows head spot and cheek colour well. Do you see most of the wing feathers look full. The next photo is with the flash to show spots on face do not look spangle. I would love someone else in the expert arena to answer me only on looks and give me reasons why. I don't have any heritage on them so I am only after a rough guess.

Ebay War On Hammocks Join In.
Budgie Hammocks! I am going to have to look this up now to see what they are about! Surely not! Are they meant to be some sort of nest?! From what I quickly saw on the internet, the hammock idea is not catching on anyway. Anyone with enough sense will see they are dangerrrrousss to any budgie. Sorry for the strong words but seriously!

Mutations Of Budgies?
What mutations are my budgies ? What babies can I expect assuming the parents aren't split for anything or have any recessive genes unless seen? I just bought Snowflake yesterday - he was standing at the cage door waiting for me until it was time to go - he knew something! Snowflake Violet They have both black pupils with white iris rings.

New Breeding Season In Canberra
Hi babychat, I am assuming your budgies are outside in an aviary! I live in Goulburn outside of Canberra and lived in Canberra beforehand for a number of years. I believe that it is best to wait till at least October. But after saying that, I know some breeders who have bought covers for their aviaries and are still successfully breeding. It must still take a lot of strength from mum budgie though to breed throughout the year! Winter is a good time to help mum budgie relax a little and put her feet up. Actually, come to think about it, 'feet up' is not a good look. Scary actually! No buy buy budgie noooo..... :laughter:

My Birds
Hi BUDGIE LO3ER, I would be interested to know what some of your budgies are also. Is that a cobalt in the 7th photo down? Is that his boy in the same photo? The blue on them is very eye-catchingly beautiful! Are the Lacewing and the green budgie you're asking about related at all?

Budgie Books
Does anyone know where I can buy the book 'Rainbow Budgerigars and Constituent Varieties by Ken Gray' in Australia? Also, do I need to join the Budgerigar Society to be able to buy the latest 'Budgerigar Society Colour Standards Book' which includes the 'Standard for Rainbow Budgies'? Thanks in advance for any advice.
