  1. Sadly it didn't make it, i was going to get some nail polish but it died before i could use it. Next time i will be prepared and maybe will use a bandaid like the previous poster said. I got no babies from that clutch, i think a lot of it had to do with all the noise from the renovations sadly. Im going to do a second clutch after new years when all the holiday madness is over and i can concentrate on the birds more and give the birds a little break.
  2. Alright thank you both for responding. I will seperate them in hopes that they will bond and i wont provide a nest for at least a few more months. Will it be okay if they can see the and hear the other birds in the aviary? Or should i place the cage far away from the aviary?
  3. I have two budgies that i want to become a bonded pair but I'm not sure how to do it. I have all my birds in the aviary along with the two birds, do i separate them in a separate cage or let them be and hope they pair up. Would i remove any other males that she might bond with? The male i want to bond was born in my aviary and is 2 years old and i bought the female who is about a year old. The male hasn't bonded with any other female in the aviary so I'm sure he won't pick any of the females but the female i bought is new and might choose a male who is 8 years or one that i don't want to mate with. So what should i do? I've never forced a bond before, i always let them choose their own mate.
  4. Ya its just a dent, so i will check in a few days, i use a small reading light to check the eggs i think the lights is led because its white and bright is that okay? The renovations are over soon, she has 5 eggs and the last two look okay so far, one has a small red speck so its growing and the other is too early to tell she might lay more so fingers crossed.
  5. One of my budgies eggs are dented, the dent is about 10mm big. Im not sure if the membrane is still in taked and the baby seems to be growing there are veins and a big red spot and there doesn't seem to be any air bubbles. Im afraid that air will get in though and kill the baby, the baby is around 5 days old. Is there anything i can use to cover the dent so it doesn't get worse. Its so sad because her first two died in shell (it had a red ring of blood), because right now we are doing renovations in the house and she gets scared and rustles the eggs.
