  1. Thank you for your reply Robyn. These are the only chicks. I have taken him away for a while and am about to put him back. Will the hen feed them on her own. Depends, if she is laying a second round, she could get aggressive with chicks. How old are your fledged chicks? Are they fully feeding on their own or is either parent still feeding them? If they are totally feeding themselves they may be safer in a kindy cage rather than with parents. Are you cage or colony breeding? I have had to take the Cock bird away again. I may have to try to hand deed the chicks. I have the mixture , just have to get them to take it.Chicks are just starting to feed themselves.i AM CAGE BREEDING.

Hi everyone I am new to the site and do a bit of backyard breeding from my balcony. I currently have two Cinamon Wing mated with two babies four days old in the nest. I would like to thank KAZ FOR THAT WONDERFUL ARTICLE on Care of Baby Budgies in the nest 7/11/07. I was looking throught Google for a book on that subject and now thanks to KAZ I have all the knowlege I need. Will I get Cinamon wing birds with the ones in the nest. Can someone recomment a book on genetics at a reasonable price. I live in Sydney Australia.
