My New Play Gym Project
I've used sisal rope mostly but also cotton rope. I made sure the sisal rope was natural untreated. Got it from bunnings. I had to unravel it to be able to use it as it was thick. It's really good for making knots. Also used unbleached cotton rope. Didn't find this very handy but still better then other types.

My New Play Gym Project
Made this on Sunday with the help of my hubby. He made it clear he only helped cos he didn't want me damaging his tools. Aargh. Both budgies are very excited. Coco is settling down too and isn't really grumpy today. She's not been very mean to Cheekoo but i have to keep an eye on both. Their favourite bit is the swinging ladder and the rope wall. I am planning on making more toys as i got for the top 2 levels. I have on tiny little problem. I used masonite wood for the floors and they are very slippery. Any idea how to make it more rough. I was thinking of sprinkling grits /shells sorta thing but how to stick it to the floor.

New Owners New Budgies
A bit of an update on my budgie status. Unfortunately i had to take the blue hen back. And i got her brother instead. He's tame as tame can be. Suprisingly the hen was very relaxed when she went back to the breeders. She just lay in his hand playing dead..lol. Anyways my new blue baby is so entertaining. He's the first one to try out all the toys in the cage. He absolutely love baths but is so messy. He's very playful. Yesterday he was hanging from the cage like a bat. Doesn't bite when i hold him but they do prefer to be together. Pictures coming soon. Still not sure about the yellow one. It might be a male afterall. The pictures don't represent to true colours of his cere. Well let's just wait and see.

Ripoff Pet Shops
I gave my budgies finally chopped carrot and brocholli mixed with a little seeds and it was funny seeing them sorting out the seeds from the veges. But i am preety sure they got a taste of it. Tomorrow morning i am giving them seeds mixed with baby food. I just had to ask. Is it okay to remove all their food at maybe 10pm and then feed them at 6am or is it to long.

Ripoff Pet Shops
Leave it for 2 days. Really? I read somewhere to remove any uneaten fruits and vege after 1 hour. Anyways i'll do my best at trying.

Ripoff Pet Shops
Lol should have asked here before buying them. Any other tips on treats. My budgies won't eat anything apart from seeds. No fruits no veges. Yesterday i gave them some bananas rolled in the seeds but no luck. I tried hand feeding one of them but it simply won't eat.

Ripoff Pet Shops
Went to a pet shop at a local westfield. Decided to find some budgie treats for my new babies cos they aren't eating anything apart from just seeds. Anyways got 2 sticks which has seeds coated with honey and a calcium bit on the top. Cost me $7 / pack of 2 sticks. Went to coles and decided to walk past the pet isle and gues what their $3.45 each branded one or $2.99 coles branded. Now i know.

New Owners New Budgies
So here's a photo i took of them in the morning without the flash. I let them out of the cage. The yellow one came out all good and the other followed but it was a pain putting him back in.

New Owners New Budgies
Hi Daz, Are you sure the yellow faced blue one is a female. What about the fully yellow one. I bought them both thinking they were males. If you could or others could confirm. The breeder has told me he'll take it back if it keeps on biting vos they said it was tame. I wanted to keep males only. Don't want to breed them or anything. No wonder it's so fiesty.

New Owners New Budgies
Yet to name them. These are my new budgies. The yellow one is so tame but the blue one is fiesty and giving me too may problems. Bitten and bled.

New Owners New Budgies
Hi all. I am a first time owner of 2 new budgies. A beautiful yellow male and a blue with yellow face male. I have a large cage, toys, food and all set up for them. I got the yellow one first and 2 days later got the blue one to keep him company. Problem is that my new budgie is very aggressive. He bites a lot even if i am just changing the food and water. He'll try to fly out of his cage as soon as he gets an opportunity. He won't even let me touch my yellow one. He's getting my yellow budgie all upset. He's been chirping away since i got him. Not sure what to do. I took him to a friend who's a budgie owner and he clipped his wings. But he can still fly around. If he escapes he gets into tiny corners and will bite at me. He's no where close to as tame as my other one. He's a preety boy and it would be a shame to not be able to handle him. Being a new owner i don't think i can. Is there anyone who might want to buy him off me or swap him for a tamer one male or female. I can send a photo if you prefer. I am based in Mount druitt, NSW. PS: He's 12 weeks old.
