  1. Wow, that's very observant that you noticed the toe. We don't know what kind of trauma she sustained before we got her, but she is still able to successfully remain on perch (though she doesn't have the firmest grip) We affectionately call her "Stubbs"
  2. Yippeeee! That's great news to me. So, no new additions to my family. Thank you so much for the clarification.
  3. Hi All, It's been great finding this site and gaining some knowledge. Thanks!!! About two years ago, our family adopted two parakeets from a bird rescue foundation. We were told by the organization that they were two females. One is a normal green with a brown cere, the other (shown below) is yellow and green and has a beige-looking(?) cere. We also had them checked out by our vet who said they were healthy females. But then she added, she was "pretty sure" they were females. We have enjoyed them as friendly, affectionate, and engaging pets!! About a week ago we started noticing some unusual behavior which was not the norm, such as pecking at each other, kissing and running around the bottom of the cage. A few days later, i saw an egg! I didn't give much thought because I assumed it was unfertilized. I did leave it in the cage after reading that some birds may keep laying if the egg goes missing. Since yesterday I have noticed that the green (super obvious) female has been staying around it constantly. I'm still going with the two females theory, but all this behavior is making me wonder... I have tried doing my own research on line but it doesn't appear to be very straight-forward to me. Any help and expertise would be very much appreciated! Thank you!! PHOTOS:
