  1. Is it possible for his cheek patches to change again?? Now it looks like I'm seeing a light grey at the top of them? I know he's in the middle of molting. His cere is going from pink to blue as well. Thanks, Rena
  2. The cheek patches are not very clear in the picture. I was going by the statement in the first post He definetly has white cheek patches. They did start off purple though which I find strange that they would change color, but they are white now. My camera is not the best. Thanks again for your posts. Rena
  3. Hi Neville, He did start out with purple cheek patches. Here he is about a week after I got him and I noticed some white coming through. Interesting, thanks for the info. So you'd consider him an Olive pied Spangle?
  4. Thank you both!!!! The breeder of my male told me he was a Grey Green Spangle pied. I noticed those pics came out dark. Sorry, will try to get more accurate picture. I was just curious to know, not too concerned about his coloring, I'm just starting out and wanted a nice pet, which he is;) The hen's coloring is not accurate in the first two pics either. She doesn't look that sky blue in person. Outdoor's she looks violet/lavender greyish. Very pale chest color. I have a lot to learn about genetics though. I am still learning about Gouldian genetics and I've been breeding them for 4 years now Budgies are scary, lol! Thanks again, Rena
  5. Hi All, Just joined and wanted opinions from the experts on my birds mutations. I bought my first English Budgie from a breeder and just wanted to confirm. He was about 9 weeks when I got him and had purple cheek patches and a pink cere. The cheek patches are turning white and his cere is starting to turn blue. He just started molting a few weeks ago. He made me fall in love with English variety This is my girl I just got a few days ago. Someone brought her in as handtame so had to take her, plus she's a beautiful color, just like to know what mutation she is. I took a few outside to get a more accurate color of her. Thanks in advance! Rena
