About Me

I have been breeding pet budgies as a hobby since 2004, something I had always wanted to do myself after watching my grandfather breed budgies when I was young. I don't pair my birds up, as I prefer to let them decide who they want to partner with (assuming they don't fall in love with a family member... this I do not allow). It makes it more exciting to have a nest full of mixed genetics, rather than being able to predict the colour and variety of the chicks.

I handle my chicks from a young age to ensure they are tame and good pets when they are sold. I prefer not to hand raise them, as I find it unnecessary to produce a wonderfully tame and playful bird. Also, being raised by their parents allows them learn how to be a bird!

In the last year I have branched out and purchased a couple of pairs of scarlet chested parrots, elegant parrots and bourke parrots, all at a young age. They have spent 2011 growing up and I am hoping that in 2012 I will begin to get some baby grass parrots!
