  1. I tried to clean his bum but its really stained. Does this look normal?? & also I don't know when he has been wormed, is it safe to do it again anyway or should I wait a few months? Sorry it's not the best photo, I only have my phone atm.
  2. His poo's aren't runny, quite solid & quite big (I have another budgie & his poo's are a fair bit smaller) I'm quite sure he's eaten as there was empty seed husks in & around his food bowl , but I haven't actually seen him eating. There was also seed husks in his water dish too. Yesterday he was just sitting on the bottom of the cage but today when I came home from work he was up on his swing. His cere looks okay, no dry crusty bits on it & it's nice & pink. But as I said his bottom is a mess & I will do my best to clean it with him squirming lol poor little thing. I have left 3 sides of his cage covered over yesterday & today, & he's just starting chirping a little bit tonight.
  3. I have a baby budgie (don't know how old) & I'm worried about his health. He has a dirty bottom (leaf green colour) & when I came home today he had poo on his beak aswell & I've just seen him picking at his bottom. I only got him yesterday so I thought he is still scared. He has eaten today & done lots of poo's- again a leaf green & white colour, they have no smell to them. Please help Thankyou
  4. Can someone please tell me what type of budgie Stewie is? & he also has a white ring around one eye, does that mean anything? Thanks!
  5. Has anyone been to Ace Colony Aviaries lately?? I'm wondering if they are still in business as I keep calling their number & get no answer!! Tried 3 days in a row hmmm...
  6. Thanks so much, its always worth it to ask & those budgies are gorgeous, thankyou
  7. Thanks for your advice & also how many weeks old do they have to be before I can take home to tame?? I have found some babies for sale on Gumtree that say just out of nesting box/ some still in nesting box... ?
  8. Hi, I'm looking at buying a budgie & just wanted some advice on what to look for (good/bad) I'd like to know that I'm buying a healthy budgie that has been well cared for
  9. Hi, Can anyone tell me if budgies come in a cinnamon colour? (similar to that of a cinnamon cockatiel) & would that be an easy colour to find for purchase? Thankyou!
  10. Yay! Thats what I wanted to hear. I love Stewie, even if he isn't tame he's still a beautiful happy birdie & I'd love for him to have a friend Thanks for your advice
  11. Hi I'm looking at getting a friend for our bird Stewie, who we actually found getting attacked by other birds at a local park. We've been told that he's around 1-2 years old & I think he may have escaped from an aviary as he isn't hand tamed & is quite scared of us. I would like to get him a friend as I don't want him to be lonely especially if he had come from an aviary where he would have had lots of birdie friends. My question is, what would be the pros/cons to getting him a friend that was hand tamed? I would love to have a budgie that we can have out of the cage & interact with, but if its better that I just get another untamed bird then thats fine as I just want Stewie to have a friend. Would having a hand tamed bird change the way that Stewie is, would that help him to be more trusting of us & want to interact? Any feedback on anyone whose had a similar situation or just any advice at all would be great Thankyou
  12. Hi everyone, I now have a lovely budgie named 'Stewie' added to my household. We actually found him, he was getting attacked at a local park by magpies & indian minor birds so we rescued him & he now has a lovely home. Just a few questions about him I was hoping anyone could help me with.... First of all I am calling it a he...so is he really a he?!! I think so from some of the information I've been reading on here. & any idea on roughly how old he is? He was very scared for about the first week since we got him (had him for about a month now) but now he's not so scared of my hand when I'm changing his food/water etc. Would you suggest that I get his wings clipped to help with taming him? He has gotten out of his cage when I was cleaning it a couple of times-he did fly around like crazy but surprisingly didn't fly into things, just kept flying until he found a safe spot to land. ....just that the safe spot was somewhere I couldn't reach lol! I think his colours are beautiful & I've seen alot of budgies before, but never coloured like him. Does anyone know what type of budgie he is? I have been trying to teach him to talk (pretty boy,,etc), but nothing so far, but he does love to mimic the lorikeets that feed off our grevillea in the backyard & always seems to be happy & chirping away. I thought of getting him a friend, but wasn't sure if thats a good idea? I do want him to be tame & be out of his cage but someone told me that if I get him a friend he won't love me he'll only love his friend!! Sorry so many questions but I just want to raise him the right way!! Thankyou ) I'll add some pics!....oh & one more thing... he has one eye with a white ring around it & the other doesn't, does this mean anything?
