  1. Sorry for the late reply - internet went down for over a week. One of the joys of country living! Thanks for that suggestion I will give it a try.
  2. The box in the top corner of the breedin cage and I left her with it for about 2 months before I gave up and put her mate in with someone else.
  3. Hi all, I am hoping you can help me with some puzzling behaviour. I have a hen who won't go into a nest box. She sits outside it and stares into it but she just won't go in. She is a biggish double spangle. She gets friendly with her partner preening and cozing up to him. The nest box is a standard store bought rectangle box. Has anyone had this happen before? Any ideas? Thanks
  4. I am not stressed about colours. I am more interested quality. I have read that you should not mix grey with lutino. And people seem divided over violet and lutino. I had thought I would put the grey spangle with my other hen (violet), who I think is better than the lutino hen. I want to improve quality, size and head and then maybe one day become active in the local bird club.
  5. Hi All, I have a lutino hen and the only decent males I have are a cobalt pied, a violet normal and a grey spangle. The first two are well put together, good size, a little lacking in head feathering (is it called blow???) the spangle is a big bird and has a good full head of feathers. The lutino has good colour and is a little small but not to much. What would be the best pairing? Thanks
