Patrick, I believe I've mentioned him before on here... he passed away in August. He was the best friend anyone could ever have. During the few weeks after his death, Skeeter went into depression... she showed aggression, wouldn't eat, and sat there looking like a vulture. We took her to our aviary vet multiple times, and gave her vitamins in her water. In late September she began to act like herself again, but she can't be in the same cage as our new budgies. She dearly misses Patrick... Earlier in October, Skeeter laid another clutch of 4 eggs. I could tell she found it difficult to sit on them without a friend there to feed you and take your place after a few hours, which is why she became bored of sitting on them. Patrick used to feed her and even sit on the eggs when Skeeter took a break. They were like a little budgie married couple... Skeeter still isn't the same to this day. She is very irritable and doesn't have the same disposition. I feel hurt whenever I see her sitting on the perch where she used to groom Patrick... RIP Patrick, my little buddy. Thanks... for being there.

Thanks for your help! I'm looking them up right now. Yes he was labeled as Bull Shark; will have to contact the store.

I believe the pet store labeled him as "Bull Shark" Maybe they labeled him wrong? I will post a picture later, my mom has the camera right now... I'll describe him for now. He is gray-black on the top of his body, and has a white underbelly. He also has whiskers like a catfish...

Miniature bull shark, that is. OVer the past few days I've noticed my African Dwarf Frog, Rock, was getting rather inactive. So I bought a new heater and installed it into my 10 gallon tank, and let my new shark Buddy in. He swam around, and being the humorous guy he is, started playing with the current of the filter. He's been doing this for THREE DAYS STRAIGHT. It's like, "Buddy! You are still swimming in circles... " He constantly swims and he swims LIKE A SHARK. He wiggles his tail and just, swims. I guess he just learned how to have fun in my tank for him. He's a great guy and loves to eat food that I give him. He will not eat food from anyone else in my house; my sister, my mom, my dad, etc. He is so cute Will post a video of him swimming.

Thank you for addressing that, I must have misread the package when out to buy. Will buy some calcium supplement when I can find it, yesterday while looking in my pet store we found the calcium egg bits but we couldn't find any powder or liquid to put into water

I've gotten some VitaFlight (couldn't find Calcivet, maybe it's because I live in the US?) and put the powder into her water. Took out nest box as well. I mixed some special vitamin food in with her regular, is that alright? Or is that too much?

Thanks so much KAZ and Dean_NZ. It worried me when I saw it was pink, but it also had the crack. Going to get some tonight. Thanks so much for your help. I do have a cuttlebone in there for them to chew but I suspect they chew it when I'm not looking? But I am getting the calcivet tonight..

As some know, my female yellowface, Skeeter, started laying eggs in November. (2 and a half years old) She first had 6 but none were fertile, so we waited until she was done to throw them away. Quickly after we moved her to the newest cage we got, a Vision M01, with her 'boyfriend', Patrick, a green parakeet. (Five years old) (January) After I got home from school today I noticed a new pinkish egg. It was not there yesterday. So, excited, I informed my mom and we got the nesting box ready again. While I was getting on gloves, I noticed the egg was sinking into the bottom of the cage (grated bottom). I looked over it and noticed a crater which had the pattern of the cage in it. My mom told me to keep the egg anyways, but I'm not so sure. I believe she laid the egg while standing on the perch right above it. Please help on this subject?
  10. I have a question. Can only English budgies be feather dusters, or can Australian/American budgies be feather dusters as well? RIP Dusty.. you were a beautiful girl and loved by many. You are happy and healthy now.

    Thanks :3
  12. Thanks. Even though they died a while ago, they still give me good memories when I think of them. They are all happy and healthy now in Rainbow Bridge.
  13. Jessica, oh what a feisty hen you were. You were my first ever budgie; I called you my pastel, because you had a lot of pastel colors on you. You were mainly white, though you did not have the albino/lutino eyes. I still loved you. Aaah, Jerry, the good times we shared. I learned how to ride my bike when I had him, and we celebrated with a millet spray and ice cream. He was a nice budgie, so full of personality. He was older and tame when I got him, and I loved him so much. However he had various medical disabilities. For one, he had very large eyes. That means he had a thyroid problem. We looked up what to do with a bird like that, and did all we could to help him and more. He could barely fly and had very hot feet. But he was the nicest bird I have ever met. He never liked my sister, but he loved me and my mom. He, just... he was a bundle of fun and happiness. Whenever I saw him my day instantly got brighter. Even though it was a lot of work changing his cage every three days and mixing his special food in the morning with extra vitamins, he was so worth it. I could never thank him enough for coming into my life. He was a green budgie with a bright yellow head, and his tail was a dark teal. I miss both so much that words cannot write it. I love you Jerry and Jessica. You both still live forever in my heart.
  14. She's such a doll! So cute! I just want to pet her! <3

OOOH. I thought that this forum showed that. I've been on some that do. I'll just say I'm a new teen. And, I will throw away the eggs, tomorrow. It's getting pretty late and my birdies are probably asleep right now. And yes, it is very nice that I have my parents' support. Next year, for my birthday/Christmas, I'm going to ask to get a small aviary for my backyard and three more budgies to put in there for my current ones. I have to start small because, you know, school gets harder as you go up each grade level and pets are a big responsibility. Actually, the last one was just laid about 4-5 days ago, I believe. It's been, about 2 weeks since the first one, I meant. Sorry. Sometimes I have trouble explaining. Thanks for the warm welcome!
