Emailed a breeder to see if she has birds for sale, as well as a local avain vet who might know some breeders in the area...Hope something turns up!

I live in the Eastern Suburbs, so Wentworthville is a bit far . Does anyone know where I can get a list of all registered breeders? Any help is much appreciated.

I'm going to be a first time budgie owner soon! I already have a cage, and now all I need is a bird. Trouble is, I can't find any good places to buy them. I looked around at some petshops near me, but they both had their problems-one had far too many birds in a small cage, the other one had birds that were obiously ill. I tried Googling bird breeders, but I couldn't find any in Sydney that had handreared pet (a lot were selling showbirds, which I don't want) birds for sale. Does anyone know some good breeder sites? Or does anyone here have birds for sale in Sydney, or know of some?

I'm getting a new budgie soon for the first time, and I'm going to keep it in my room (well, actually the cage will be moved between two rooms, so Budgie can have more of a social life.). I was thinking about keeping the cage in front of a window. The window has no direct light due to surronding buildings, and is alway kept shut. Is this okay? Also, the room that Budgie will be flying in has a frosted window. Do I need to cover it?
