Rehabilitating Lucia...
I just read this thread and was overwhelmed by your generosity and love for Lucia. I am so sorry she passed away before her time, but I am so impressed and inspired by what you did for her and I know she will be eternally grateful to you. The short time you got to spend with each other is worth all the time in the world :thankyou: RIP little Lucia.

Pip - Male Bourke Parrot
Here are a couple of pictures of our male bourke parrot He is surprisingly tame for a bourke (especially considering he is not hand raised) and has already learned to wolf whistle He is an awesome little bird. http://i1042.photobucket.com/albums/b427/T...gies/Pip04A.jpg http://i1042.photobucket.com/albums/b427/T...gies/Pip01A.jpg

Some Updated Pics
Here are some more recent pictures of my budgies. Two have paired up and are currently nesting, let me know what you think of the pair .. I must admit I am a novice breeder and I am not interested in showing birds, I am interested more in birds as companion pets but I am keen to see what you guys think of them This is the first bird we ever got a male named Bernard: This is his girlfriend, Captain Pickles (she was purchased as a male >.<): Here they are together : This is Hermogenes (cock) and Tinuviel (hen) who are currently nesting: And as a last cute picture, here is Captain getting chatted up by our princess parrot (you can really see Captain's colouring here):

Adonis
Kaz: Sorry for the late reply! You have some gorgeous birds there. He is growing his spatules He is also learning to talk really well! He is getting quite an impressive vocabulary which I hear is not so common for princesses so I am very impressed. His favourite phrase at the moment is to ask "what cha doing?" every time he wants my attention. Love that bird to bits! Also! I have a nesting budgie hen this will be my first try breeding so fingers crossed

Greetings!
Kaz, We do a health check on all birds sold .. from the smallest finch to sulphur crested cockatoos. We check: the vent for any signs of a messy bottom; legs and feet for any sign of scaly mite; breast area to make sure it is plump; make sure eyes are bright and clear etc. If they do not pass any one of these health checks then we do not sell the bird and take it up to our quarantine section. We are in constant contact with one of Brisbane's highest regarded Reptile / Avian vet, Deb Monk who runs Brisbane Bird and Exotics Vet We are also encouraged to refuse sale to anyone who is not willing to buy the right size cage for the bird they want I love my pet store. I have actually reported a few pet shops here in Brisbane to the RSPCA because of there horrible conditions. Pet City is pretty much the only pet shop I would buy livestock from. This has turned out more like an advertising rant .. but I am just trying to articulate how high the standards are All the staff members have a lot of experience with the animals we sell, several have worked at Australia Zoo etc. So yeah .. it is a fantastic learning experience for me I love it. Liza

Introducing My Birds
Kaz: Thanks for telling me what they are I have no experience in identifying colour mutations at all but it is something I would like to learn  Robyn: They are very pretty Thanks for the compliment. I love my little birdies. It always makes me sad when people come in to work looking for a bird and refuse to even consider a budgie because they are "boring" >.<

Greetings!
