I have followed all your advice I have not colony breed and have done everything you said. I had 1 pair in my aviary together who laid the eggs and none of the other budgies bothered them at all and they were happy cheerful budgies, all healthy and clean. The only thing I found really interesting is that the hen mated with to boys (the first day with one, and the 3rd day with another). But there was no fighting or anything like that. Does any of that help?

My budgies laid four eggs and she sat on them almost all the time, I hardly saw her comeout. When their due hatching date came they did not hatch and after an extra week she got of the eggs. This was here first clutch so I`m guessing that might have contributed to the eggs dieing. After 5 weeks she cracked one of the eggs and there was a full formed baby inside. I then cracked the rest and they all were the same. Is this because of the cold? Nate

Sorry that budgie on the box (sky blue) had his wings clipped as he was in a cage and there still growing but he can fly no problem. Also about that picture I put up, sorry about the size I didn`t realize it was to big till I posted it and I didn`t know how to take it off.I have 2 paired budgies in a large cage together with 2 nesting boxes and they seem happy but have not laid yet. Also When is the best time to breed them???And that basket hanging is more a decoration with some straw they like to chew on. Thankyou again for all your postssorry I`m not sure how to PM you could you please explain ThanksHow do you PM someone as I`ve only been on this for 3days and haven't worked that outsorry

Thankyou all of you for your replies. The pied and the light green clear winged are babies, the Grey and colbolt blue are brothers and about 2 years, the cinnamon is 3 years and the sky blue in 3years - When I brought these birds I was told there all healthy to breed, I guess the breeder didn`t know to much about budgie breeding. I will take out the boxes and try again later. Witch one looked like it had french mult Thanks

Dry brown is past breeding condition Light blue is either a male not in breeding condition or a female out of breeding condition. Is the pale blue ceres with white at all ? What is the correct cere colour for breeding? All the breeders I`ve met said that dry brown is correct.
