Doxycycline Dose
They are all in separate cages, in different bedrooms!!!My husband thinks I'm being paranoid about bubble's tail bobbing. he doesnt think there's anything wrong with him and im just extrapolating to the other birds. Thanks GB. All are still alive today.Pepper's runny poo has resolved. I think it was just from excess urine from all the antibiotic liquid id given her. she happily sculled 3 softdrink capfulls of antibitoci liquid when it was mixed in with a tiny bit of her old formula.she did the same this morning.now her poo has a white coating over the 'poo' part, as well as the urate component. hopefully the doxy will cover for this aswellhusband thinks bubbles' tail bobbing is in my head. quite possible im seeing things that aren't thre. she looks very happy today. thats the trouble. they all look great. not one of them looks close to sick. all eating, preening, flying well. hopefully we've got this in time

Doxycycline Dose
Thanks Kaz apparently pepper (budgie 5 weeks) has psitaccosis. His Sx now include: clear wet sneeze 5 days, bubbles in urine, diarreah (perhaps just urine from all the antibiotic liquid ive been feeding him) now bubbles (budgie 4 months) has increased respiratory rate, possible slight tail bobbing. and chicken (green cheeked conure 5 months) has a clear wet sneeze, bubbles in urine. all have now been separated from each other but i fear its too late. i think we will lose all 3 in the next 48 hours. i cant stop crying. i only lost my last budgie (Mo, 3 weeks) to pneumonia about a month ago. I can't handle it anymore. I don't think we will get any more birds if these ones don't make it. I'm so upset

Doxycycline Dose
Thanks KAZ What do you think about the concentration though. Should I make it more concentrated so they get the full dose or does that dosing assume that they won't consume all the water. Because I know of no bird that drinks 100mL/week. I already called the vet but the receptionist only passed on a message and it left me still confused about the concentration.

Doxycycline Dose
Hi guys what is the dose of doxy for chlamydia infection vet told me twice but I forgot because I was so distressed all I have is what he wrote down: 1/4 teaspoon in 100mL. How long should they be treated for? My birds won't drink 100mL in a week! how will they get their full 1/4 teaspoon a week? Do I need to make it more concentrated to get the full 1/4 teaspoon? Or is the quarter teaspoon in 100mL just a concentration guide and the bird will drink what it wants

Off On A Holiday With The Little One
Could you turn the car on and leave it on whilst packing it; that way it will be cool when you all hop in

Help With Feeding Baby
Just letting you all know that I put him to bed, checked on him half an hour later for a feed and found him seizing. He passed in my husbands hands within 5 minutes. RIP little Mo. Thanks to those of you who posted with your advice in the last few days

I do need to stress less. He's just such a sweet little thing. Deserves to be healthy just like every other bird out there

Help With Feeding Baby
He is very bright. The vet says she doesn't know what the lump is but agrees its in the crop and is mobile. Says its too rubbery to be food and she tried to break it up by feeding him some Hartmann's solution and it didn't budge. She says as long as he keeps feeding well its not an issue. I was just guessing at 3 weeks based on my limited experience. I wouldn't be surprised if he's only just reaching 3 weeks now compared to other members baby birds. I don't think he's that small: Did you see these photos I posted yesterday? Now I'm worried he's small aswell :laughter: Poor little guyHim sleeping in my husbands old boxer shortshttp://i950.photobucket.com/albums/ad343/JC154949/8Jana.jpgPreeninghttp://i950.photobucket.com/albums/ad343/JC154949/8Janb.jpgWing stretchhttp://i950.photobucket.com/albums/ad343/JC154949/006.jpg

Help With Feeding Baby
Oh no I've now noticed a 9x3x3mm lump in his crop. The lump is mobile and feels rubbery. I'm quite sure its solid formula. I certainly haven't fed her any formula that is too thick. So maybe it has separated from the water in the crop. Is it safe for me to attempt to massage it out myself or should I take him to the vet again? He is still otherwise very well. I just don't want to risk him getting a crop infection when he's already had such a rough start to life.

Help With Feeding Baby
I only checked him once last night he had one feed over 10 hours and still had some in his crop. Maybe I will get some sleep after all. Help With Feeding Baby
We don't have a lamp :S But his makeshift nest box is very warm and we live in Darwin where it is currently 31 degrees. We aren't using fans or airconditioners in his room at all. I also check on him 2 hourly and he has always been warm. Force feeding for another couple of weeks?!!?! I was hoping on getting some sleep.
