Baby Budgie
Thanks to everyone that gave me advise on what to do with my little baby, it did'nt make it threw the night so thats sad but hopefully the others will be okay. The little one that did die was being buried by the other babies so i think thats the main reason it wasnt being fed.

That did'nt work so i will have to feed them with the mix my husband is grabbing from the pet store.I have read that you use a spoon is that correct and do i just dip there beek into the formula? No. Its newly hatched.....and a spoon is way too big. You need a toothpick and pick up a drop of food at a time and put to the beak. Babies like that feed laying on their backs. If the baby is strong enough it will suck it in. Hardest thing is getting the temperature right and keeping it warm when making such a tiny amount....baby is likely to only take about 3-4 drops of food. I just tried feeding them, they took it easily but im not sure about the formula it said 1 part powder to 6 parts hot water, which i used luke warm but it was really runny.Once i fed the littelest one it rolled on its back and didnt do much so i have put them back in the nesting box and hopefully it will get the strength to make a noise and be fed by the mother. Fingers crossed

Thankyou so much, it seems okay i just don't want to leave it to much longer with no food. Should i keep the other babies in a container in the cage or take them out?

Baby Budgie
Hi everyone, i am new to the forum and i need your help. My budgie has laid 6 eggs, 5 have hatched and it looks like the 6th is about to. The 5th baby was born yesterday and it hasn't been fed, i keep checking on them and all the bigger babies have the yellow bulge to tell me they are fed but the little one still has nothing. I have tried to move it so that its not being buried by the others but this hasn't helped. I wondered before i resort to feeding it myself if i can take the other 4 out so that she feeds the little one,and if i can will 10 minutes be long enough or will this create more trouble for me. What do i do????? Thanks Nic
