Thanks guys. Guess what, I put it back in the nesting box and today it is on the floor again. Obviously thats where it wants to be! It is totally feathered and appears to be feeding itself, although I think the dad is still feeding it as well. I'll just keep an eye on it. I don't think any other birds have pushed it out as the mum and dad are still pretty protective. Unless of course one of the other babies has pushed it out as they are all poking their heads out and one other baby is almost coming out half way. It still doesn't seem to be able to fly but I'm sure it will soon. Thanks again.

Thanks for your warm welcome. My husband and I have 8 beautiful adult budgies and a pair have recently had 4 babies, 3 of whom have survived. These are our first babies so we are very unsure of what to do. We have an aviary with nesting boxes at the very top. This morning we found one of the babies (about 5 weeks old) on the floor of the aviary. It still can't fly and we are not sure what to do. It is climbing the wire and then falling down and we are worried it will hurt itself. Should we put it back in the nesting box/should we leave it on the floor of the aviary? Could someone please tell me how long does it take for them to fly once they are out of the nesting box and also is it normal for them to fall to the floor of the aviary like that? Thanks.
