hello, im basically a new, i had birds years ago but nothing really for a long time. my wife got a few budgies a few years back, but due to a naughty toddler opening the aviry door, supplies dwindled fast.. so, here we are, the toddler has turned 7 and things are on a more even keel, and i have found myself takeing more than just an intrest in starting up the aviry again. after looking at some lovely birds at our local show here in Bundaberg ( QLD ) i find myself prepareing the aviry again this afternoon in anticipation to some new arrivals. i have a cage, 2.4m X 2.4M x 2M inside the cage i have breeding boxes, a 3 x 3 teer each cage is aprox 50cm square. i would like to breed the large english breed ,or whatever the large show genetics you see at the shows are. Yes , i am a totall beginner, basically starting from scratch, especially with knolage about this breed. the aim is to purchase some quailty genetics, and start from there. i would like to show the birds fauther down the track, so figuer ther's no scence starting behind the 8 ball with poor genetics. this brings me to my delimer... how the heck do i find good quality genetics, and what to look for to determine what good genetics actually are to begin with. i would like to start out with 6 pair, and jump in the deep end right up yes, i hear you all giggling.. so, i'm hopeing to find some direction in wich to start from, and some good advise would be muchly appericated. i am on a disabilty pension,so have time on my hands to study and devote to this, and want to start out on the right foot. Kind REgards, Brett
