20 Day Old Baby Budgie
Hi Everyone This is surviver Today has been a very good day for both of us - i now have him / her eating nicely from a syringe I flew down to my local perbarn this morning and the lovely staff supplied me with some (Avione) hand rearing fomula which didn't work to begin with but then a friend rang and said try using warm water instead of cold and baby gobbled it all up - its asleep now but i'm ready now with a little bib & paper towel on hand - I've actually got baby in another nesting box in the house and it seems alot happier now than it did in the small cage. I'd like to thank you all for coming to my aid I only resuced mum and dad from an abandon house and really know nothing about budgies but in the last 7 months they have become a great pleasure to our family - The lady from the pet shop has worked out why baby was kicked out of the nest and thats because mum is laying more eggs which she thinks is weird because that shouldn't happen until September but once i told her mum has been having babies and eggs every 8 - 9 weeks she had to come and see for herslf - The first two babies are handsome looking and mother was more nicer with them then the second 2 she had on the 7th June I named this baby budgie surviver because he /she got tossed from a great height and survived 3 falls now if it only stays happy with me feeding it - then it will live in the house with us always instead of back in the avery.

20 Day Old Baby Budgie
Hello Could any one advise me on what to do here - 2 days ago one of my baby budgies was not alive in the nest I don't know what happen to it - but it has totally stressed me out because this is only the second time my female bird has had babies the first 2 have turned into lovely birds and are doing well. In regards to the baby bird that passed away was another baby in the nest and the mother tossed it out, when I went to put it back in the box was when I found the other one that passed away Over the last 2 days i have found it at the bottom of the cage trying to fend for itself its only 20 days old - ( born on the 7th June 09 ) Tonight is very cold and it was out of the nest again - I've bought it inside in and I've put it in a cage but what do I do to feed it? Its quiet and asleep at the moment but i'm sure its gonna want food sooner or later tonight or in the morning Can some one tell me what to do and if this baby has any hope of surviving now i've brought it inside out of the avery? I must admit - Its seems pretty good considering Mum wasn't in the nest she was just huddled in the corner of the avery with dad and the other 2 babies she's had previously. Also its just sitting on the bottom of the cage should i make some sort of nest for it to sit in or should i just go and put it back in the nesting box and hope mum goes back to it?
