Thanks Liv. I finally worked it out last night, bit of a blonde attack. I managed to find the web site and I'll probably attend the next meeting. It's not too far from me. Would be good to actually see what's going on locally.

Milly pied with son and daughter (approx 18 months old now). Peek a boo few more of the flock There's a few others who I haven't managed to get half decent pics of yet. I love photography and with such gorgeous subjects it's easy for me to go over board.

Thanks for that Liv and for the welcome. Sorry to sound totally dense but what does NEBS stand for? I know as soon as you tell me I'm going to go , of course. I have to get another aviary built (hubby doesn't know that yet) for them so not in a rush. If I have a contact at least I know where to go when I am ready though.

Just introducing myself. I was referred to this site by a lovely informative gentleman from the Budgie Breeder Club of SA. I decided instead of just lurking to get information I should actually join so I can share as well learn. I bred budgies as a child/teenager and nowadays I breed conures, quakers, cockatiels and hopefully (if they go down) eastern long billed corellas and galahs as companion parrots. I've always had budgies around, can't help but adore them and have decided to, I guess you could say, go back to where I started. I currently have 5 pairs and I'm in the process of converting my bird stuff storage shed into a breeding room as well. Bit of stuff in there to throw out and some conversion to get more light and air in. I'll be constructing my own breeding cages (budgies live in a colony with the 'tiels and princess parrots when they aren't in their breeding aviaries) so I can do planned selective breeding (is that the right term?). I may be asking a few questions there on construction, be warned. As a kid I was fine with budgie genetics, nowadays, aaagh, seems to have all seeped out so expect a few questions there too. Very interested in getting a couple of pairs of bush budgies down the track (no rush) so if anyone in good ole Adelaide has some or knows someone please let me know. Could babble for awhile, but I'll be good and won't. Look forward to learning and sharing with you all.
