Veggies From The Super Market
How you all doing, I was reading a few post and couldn’t find anything on some questions I have on feeding veggies- 1. Do you all boil your veggies first? Like for instance, I am thinking of feeding Jokey some broccoli and was wondering if I should boil them a little first? Or should I soak them in water for a little time first? Please keep in mind that these are veggies from the super marker and not fresh. I am guessing the once from the super marker have some chemicals sprayed on them to keep bugs away right? 2. Corn- Do you boil them first or just raw? 3. Apples- do you cut them up in small little pieces? What would you think is the best way? I was concerned about all those preservatives and stuff the spray on the fruits and veggies. Thanks

Potty Train
Yea- I guess almost anything is possible with some dedication. I will have to give it a try. I was reading some other birds being potty trained and I guess I have to keep a eye out when Jokey goes. I don't care if he poops on me or around the house. I just thought it would be nice if he did have his loo... On command I think I wouldn't try. I wouldn't want him to get sick or anything. Chrysocome - That is cool - I want to teach Jokey how to do a few things- fetch and put a ball or paperball into a cup would be awesome. That might be easier than teaching him not to poop on people Maybe I'll tell people that is one of his tricks LOL "Look at Jokeys trick, he will poop on you!"

Potty Train
Well, I wasn't thinking on command. I was thinking more like a place. So they would go to a place or something like on top of a newspaper. Is that possible? Example: They are flying around the room and want to go. They go to the newspaper or back to their cage, and then go back to what they were doing. I wouldn't want to forget to tell him to go poop and what happens when your not home?

Flat Screen Tv's
Hello- I was just wondering now that my little guy is flying around I was wondering if anybody has problems with the little guys landing on TV's. I have a 50" flatscreen and it puts out some heat was wondering if the little guy might like that and lands on it or slam into it when it is off? I would think when the TV is on, the picture will probably keep him away? Also if he poops on the screen will the TV be okay, Will it stain?

Some Questions
Just to let you guys know. I took Jokey to the Vet to make sure he was okay. The Vet said that the opening and closing of the month could of been from him just being tired. He looks fine and there is no sign of him having a cold or fever. Body heat is normal. The Vet did take a poop test and he has some (I don't know what it is called) mold in his body??? The dock said he needs little more vitamins in his diet. The vet gave us some white powder to sprinkle on his seeds and some drops to put in his water. Also gave us some calcium chips to put in his food. So we went to the vet for something else and found out about something different. I am glad we found out before it got serious.

Covering Your Cage
Yes, KAZ is correct, he is 4 weeks old. My place is always 76-78F degrees now. That should be good right? He is in his new cage since last night. I covered it with a black cotton cloth. I think he loves his new place. He didn't do much at first but then he started to go test things out. I think he likes the swing the best. When I put the cover on last night he was on it. This morning he was still there. We'll see when we get home today. KAZ - So you think 3 months with the light on should be okay. "On" during the day, "Off" during the night or the other way around? If my Apt is at 76-78F degrees do you think the light is needed? Just wondering.... Thanks

Covering Your Cage
Up to what age do I keep a lamp on him? Do you use a light cloth like a old Tshirt or do you use a heavier towel type cloth? Wow, I have tons of questions. Reading other post and trying to find all the answers is a job in itself. I’m suppose to be working right now but… hihihihi

Some Questions
Hate to butt in this post but I think my little one can be sick. He is very active and eats normal. But he dose have those symptoms (shivering [not much you can't really tell unless you stare] and open and closing of the mouth). Also, when he stands on my shoulder next to may face he seems a little hot. I thought that was normal for his body heat. Also, he sneezed a few times lately. You think he has a cold? You think, just incase, I should take him to the vet?

Some Questions
You know- My bird dose the same thing. I thought he was eating but I was taking a close look last night and I didn't see any food. What is he doing?
