Hi I would like to try breeding as a hobby I have read alot of the information that people have been kind enough to give to others but I still have a couple of my own. First is I have a female with the blueish type cere and have never seen it change color now when she is of breeding condintion does it change to the brownish like the others or does it change a different color? Second what should I be doing to help my females be of breeding condition or is this an act of nature and doesnt matter what you do? Thankx Nicky

Hi not sure if its lice,mites or just itchy but all my budgies and cockatiels are scratching alot lately was wondering if I can give them all a dose of mite and lice spray. Does it hurt if thet don't have them, Ive never treated them before.

Im not really sure we have owned her for about 4 to 5 months and Im not sure on how to tell the age, one thing i do know was she looked alot older then the babies they were selling but of couse that does mean she wasn't still a baby herself. Im sorry i cant be any more help then that.

It was a rush thing to bring them inside and there is not enough room to put her cage beside them again. All so we don't think we can put her in with the Kakarikis as they a parrots and becouse of that we are scared they could hurt her.She is not in a cage by her self either thats why it seamed strange to me but i will try to get her to be able to see her pals again as soon as we can.

Hi just a question, i recently had to move my cages inside due to strong wind conditions and the lose of bird due to it, now we currently have Snowy's cage sitting ontop of our Kakariki's cage were it was beside it outside. Now everytime she can hear Hamarie and Hapuka at their food dishes she is going crazy.She is trying to break out of her cage like trying to eat the paddlock on the cage door and trying to lift the flooring of her cage off to what i believe to get to them could she be missing them? Could this be whats happening now she cant see them or something esle? By the way the paddlock is due to a 2yr old trying to help mummy feed the birdies

No its never turned a brownish color and ive had Snowy for about 5 months now

From those photos can you tell roughly how old Zoey (the one in both pics) and Snowy (the one in the second picture)are?

We are having realy bad gust of wind and we thought there cages we safe on the porch but we were wrong. We haven't seen them since it happened.

Thankyou for that and yes she is due to be treated again i didnt get time to do the second treatment due to moving, but will get on top of it. We are luck as moments after post those pictures we went outside to find the wind had caught some of our cages and we lost my breeding pair of budgies and one of our finches.
