A bit of a update on Angel Well I have had her for just over a month now and she is slowly getting used to me. Although she was hand reared she does not like to be touched at all. After reading a lot about tamming, I started handing feeding her bits of broccoli and it took a while for her to like it and she did try to bite my fingers, I quickley realised that her bites did not hurt (unless she got me between the finger nail and flesh ) I just kept the broccoli in front of her and now she goes nuts every time I give her broccoli. Anyway after doing that for a couple of weeks, yesterday I moved the broccoli away from her, so that she would have to walk on my hand to get it. It took a while and she nibbled me a bit but she finally sat on my hand and ate the broccoli  I was so happy that it had finally happen. I will now keep this up for a couple of weeks and then see if she will let me touch her without any food in my hand. I can not believe how hooked I am with this budgie, I have managed to get a 1m x 1m x 1.8m avairy for free which I am now cleaning and fixing up so I can start my own flock. How many birds would this cage fit. I was thinking around 6. Cheers, Glen

yes she is beauty and I am having a great time learning all about her. Can anyone tell me what short colours/ mutation she will grow into? From what I have read she could be classed as a graywing or a clearwing. Cheers, Glen

Hi all well this has just got to be the best forum that I have seen, so much info and so much help it is great. Well for xmas, I brought myself a little hand reared budgerigar and it was the best thing I have done. I have always wanted to have a budgerigar however never had the opportunity till now. I have name him Angel as I am not to sure if he or she. This way if it a he then I can say that I named him after the Angel tv series, if he turns out to be a she then she is named Angel because she looks like a angel. (I will try and post a picture when I get home). He is the funniest babe I have seen, he just goes nuts for his toys and mirror. Every now and then we hear him fall off his purch only to see him jump back up and look around as if to say it wasn't me!!! So much character for a small bird. I have made contact with Kaz and am looking for to attend the MDC meeting this weekend. Can someone please tell me where I read up about and learn the different colours of Budgerigars? I have no idea what type I have, so when I post the picture it would be great if someone could help me out. talk to you all soon.
