  1. Now I'm a newbie and maybe I'm wrong but ... If I wanted a bird of a certain sex, I'd be sure to buy one that is old enough to sex with certainty. It doesn't seem fair to me to bring a bird home and then return it if it's the wrong sex. I would think that's really hard on the bird. Jenny
  2. Hi Kaz, I think it is ... but being a beginner am not sure. Here's a close-up. The focus isn't great as she won't let me get too close with the camera and I have to really zoom. Jenny
  3. Thanks! She has just started her first molt in the past couple of days and is looking a little funky right now This is our first budgie and we're crazy about her.
  4. Hi, I've looked at lots of pics, and think I know .... My budgie (almost 4 months old) is recessive pied, right? Any other adjectives to tack on? thanks! Moderator Message: both your pictures were over the regulations for images of 480x640, you can leave as links or resize and repost as images.
  5. thanks everyone! I'll check back with updated pics after "her" first molt. I guess she's a girl that acts like a boy.
  6. I've looked at a lot of the recessive pied pics (that's what mine is, right?) but just can't tell. Behavior seems male, lots of singing and warbling, gurgling, some head bobbing. However I see pretty big white nostril rings though they don't show much in the pictures ... Also in real life cere seems more pinkish than blueish. First pictures is from 9 weeks: Next one is current, about 14 weeks: http://www.rent-san.ca/Copy%20of%20IMG_0577.JPG Here's another picture. It's blurry, but you can see the nostril rings, and the colour is closer to what I really see. http://www.rent-san.ca/Copy%20of%20IMG_0578.JPG
