The top one was 30 sec. The others I can't remember. I took a shot and if not good enough reset the shutter speed until i was happy... I should have jotted the figures down.

There are many hobbies that compliment each other. Eg Cooking and Eating Walking and Diet loss. I have found that the best hobbies to compliment Budgerigar Breeding and Showing is - Woodworking, Social Events and now Photography. I just bought, on Ebay, a new Canon EOS 1000d camera and have started to learn about good photography. Hence the link in my signature. I have many subjects - Budgerigars. Last night I decided to try some Night photography with out the flash. Here are some of the shots...... Don't worry the Budgies will be coming, (When they stand still ) My Home. Aviary at Night.. Birds have gone to bed. Just a Plant on the table. Every Man needs a Good Blonde All these photos were taken at night with out a flash and with normal general lighting. No Spot or Flood Lights.
  12. 3 to 6 months. Got to give them a chance to mature.
  13. Don't have to dna Budgies......
  14. Do you have sand paper covered perched or on the bottom of his cage. Sand Paper is a bad idea as it can iratate the foot. I would mix up a tea spoon of baby oil and a drop or two of detol and wipe that on his feet. The baby oil will sooth it and the detol will stop any infection.

I use the same as Splat but don't use Probotics and Antibiotics at the same time.
  17. No they are scaped as Kaz said, not just plucked.
  18. Sorry to hear this MB. Happened to me last year. I have repaired up the hen with another Cock and will take him out after the chicks are hatched.
  19. Liv you might have a chance to do what I was goiung to do, before losing the birds. If you can bred another Melanistic, hopefully a hen bird. Pair it back to the cock bird. This should give you 25% Double factor Melanistics. They are one of the most stricking Budgerigars of all. Very much like a Clear wing but full size and the bidy is very close to full colour with totally clear wings.
  20. Melanistic Spangle. That is why the markings are so good. note the full throat spots and the white tail.
  21. Liv, for a Spangle opaline, she has very good wing markings. Same as her sister. This is the right direction to go when breding spangles. Try pair these bird , when old enough to a spangle, or normal that has been bred from a spangle, with the best wing markings you have. I would be interested in 6 to 8 months how these two mature.

I now use the printed cards that come from The Budgerigar Program, They are good. @#$!^ ISP took down my free site so I am looking for a new host. That's My Club. What is the full ring number? I might either know the breeder or it could be one of my birds. I did sell / give some of my birds to a friend in your area. Fernvale Hi DAZ The ring symbol is Pr 399 KL Thats Karlos's bird. the ring is PR KL 399 - * * is the year. what is the ring colour? Gold is 2006 Green is 2007 Black is 2008
  24. You can not put an age on animals only a guide. Maturity for a cock birds is older than a hen. In my mind it is 12months. a Hen is 10 months. Experience will indicate if it should be older or younger.
