Please Help
Thank you so much eveyone. Once I figure out how to post a photo, I will. one of the babies looks so much like its mum, the others.....well I think they were all the post-mans!!!! Our pair having this clutch have given the kids so much joy, and now I will be super reluctant to let any of the babies go to a new home. Would it be possible for Matta 'the dad' to breed with another hen one day, or are budgies life partners....have we given poor Matta no choice in a now celebate life????

Please Help
Thank you so much, we are all devastated. My six year old is beside herself, we are so attached to out little friends, they are a huge part of our everyday life. fingers crossed that 'Matta', the father, will do well, and I can only hope that we can find a new mate for him one day. Any advice on where I can contact a good breeder to get a new female??? They were just the perfect pair, I am so upset that this happened. I feel bad that I can even consider a new budgie, but Matta just does not look right sitting there by himself. Thank you so much for hearing us, the kids are sitting here with me saying, "what do the people say!! what do the people say!!" I am hoping for the unbelieveable miracle that she will fly back home. Has that ever happened to anyone??? take care everyone, I hope this never happens to anyone else, it's devastating!!!

Please Help
Please HELP, we have (had) the most beautiful pair of budgies that have just produced a gorgeous batch of 5 babies. We were just cleaning out the cage, when before I knew it, Parra, the mother bird flew out of the cage, and is GONE!!! The father is fantastic, well, has been over the past weeks. Is it likely that he will take over the rearing completely?? The babies range from 3 weeks 6 days, to 2 weeks 5 days. I am totally devastated, the kids and I have been blubbering for hours, and are just at a loss for what to do!! I have read that they are not ready to survive on their own before 6 weeks, so am at a loss for what to do. I have hand rearing formula here, as the mum adandonded one of her babies early on, then after a week of hand feeding it, she re-united with it and has been fantasic. I feel so bad, it all happened so quickly, and in over 2 years, she has never done this before. Please, can anyone give me some advice on how the fathers usually cope in a situation like this. Do I need to step up around the clock??? I'll do anything!! PLease...help
