  1. Read your reply this arvo(thurs), went out to get photos, and of course batteries flat. will take and send when charged up again. Thank you Jodie, was interested in your reply, as somehow or another I am breeding al lot of Cinnamon Winged, is that what you mean by cinnamon. The oher nice thing happening is my chicks are, according to private buyers and one Pet Shop, (BIG) for the ages that they are at time of sale, I usually sell around 6 weeks old. Getting harder though as I have so many pastel colours, cream or white with splotches of colour and each is so lovely (to me), and the bulk of them have the cinnamon wings Your reply had me dashing out to the avairy to check if eyes had darkened, not game to say they have, as I could be feeding off your reply. Tried to get photos, but batteries flat, so waiting on charge up. Lutinos is a phrase I have head, my Husband bought a yellow hen,('cause he wanted), when we got home and I noticed the red eyes I freaked, (I never wanted a yellow bird, was not in my agenda). These babies though have no conection with her broods, and she has not produced a red eye. Thank you for your reply If I didn't know better, I would swear you just spoke a Foreign Language to me. I am a real real beginner who is over the hill before she starts learning the ABC'S about Budgies. I am sure I will soon learn, and when I get some photos on the site, that will have to be a bonus. Thank you

In my newly forming budgie flock, i now have 1 budgie (paula) who got out of her cage, my then faithful 11y.0 ridgeback x went to grab her, told him no, as i headed to get net. Whilst i was doing this he apparently saw her fly in another direction and without me noticing went after her. I was in shock, and did not hurry to get her from him, as i knew what to expect, (i thought). When i got to him and asked him to drop, he put her into my hand, and yes to my surprise she proceeded to bite me, and was and still is alive and well. She has her first baby after her second attempt of mating. To end the story about her rescue by my o.j, he was only 2 weeks away from having to be put down, and would have been in a lot of discomfort, as unbeknown to me his 4th and last bout of cancer had established in his liver and spleen, he had survived 3 previous cancer operations. My next story is to do with the designer dog being over interested in the silver quails who live in the bottom of one of our verandah aviaries. My husband was in the process of moving them to another aviary, when he lost his balance and the quail took off to end up in the mouth of designer dog. Well there was no doubt in our minds that this was a definite goner, but no to our amazement she only had it in her mouth to hold it down, so another bird gets to live another day.
  4. Sometimes too young a mother....sometimes the Dads arent helping the hens enough or at all. Princesses are meant to take longer to mature and breed, but it doesnt stop them trying to breed a year earlier than perhaps they should.SORRY FOR YOUR LOSS. XNANNAX
