  1. okay Thankyou Jimmy.
  2. I play alot of golf, I like growing vegetables and gardening, and I also like working outdoors.
  3. Hi all I am backfor the day so I will update. All the birds are going well. Neon and thunders nest has, 2 grey, 1 skyblue and 1 cobalt baby, all normals. Summer and chompers babies are all doing very well, eating on their own. Bull and bullets babies are: 1 skyblue yellowface, 1 cobaltt yellowface, 2 skyblue normals.
  4. Hi The budgies all turned out to be blue, I must be colourblind or somthing because I am sure atleast one had grey feathers. This is all still good information I needed to know so thankyou very much all. I have another question. Is it possible to get grey babies from a grey green hen and skyblue male? If so how does it work?
  5. I'll Be back in 2 weeks. With loads of pictures. Bye everyone :anim_19: Bye everyone. :dog:
  6. i can take pics but they dont do the bird justice in a breeding cabinet as i use the wire cabinets, and it is also such a long process to process pics on this website. I shall however over time, get a website or a page which shall have links to my birds, as im wanting to have all of my birds on record to have a picture attached to them. this cock is certainly a modern cock, as another open breeder was there at the sametime i was and he commented on the bird i had in my show cage. ( not saying im an open breeder, that the person selling the birds was an open breeder). Best photos are done by pulling them from their cage for a few mins and putting them in show cage for a photo. Especially good for your records too. Thats what Im going to do to, once I can get a hold of a showcage.
  7. Hi all. I still struggle to understand how a grey can be bred from 2 blues, Wouldnt the 2 blues have to be showing grey for this to happen? How can 2 standing blue budgies, that are NOT grey, produce grey babies. Please excuse my stupidity if I have missed somthing here Also, When pairing say a.. light green to a skyblue. All chicks are light green, but how many are split skyblue? is it all the chicks? or only some? What determines this? Thankyou.
  8. Thankyou all for the nice comments. He has been entered into the competition. Lets hope he can pull off a win :anim_19: :anim_19: :anim_19:
  9. My phone is actually turning out to be a pretty good camera, atleast the pics arent blurry.
  10. If the babies are very young and you move them with the parents, fair chances are the parents wont go near the chicks again. So If you have a brooder and a heat pad you could hand raise them?
  11. Thankyou very much Kaz. Its funny because summer and chompers last clutch had a biter, the opaline spangle. Now with this new clutch guess who the biter is? The opaline spangle again. It must be in their genes to bite everything and anything.
  12. My birds pick at it sometimes but I've never had a problem with it, I think it just absorbs into the skin?
  13. In my opinion this one is a cock and this one is a hen
  14. I got my iverctmin in a small dropper bottle. I hold the bird and get some of the neck feathers out of the way and then drop one drop onto the back of the neck. Then let the bird fly away.
  15. Click on the number inside the red circle I love this budgies markings

  17. What I do is: Take all toys, perches, food and water dishes out. Then the budgie will go to the ground, then grab a dinner towel/tea towel and put it over him. Its stress free for the budgie this way and its very easy.
  18. Thankyou Dave I am leaving tomorow and I wanted to put them in a wire cage incase red mite came back in the wooden one.
  19. HI I have a question. If I was to put the babies (all over 4 weeks old) into a breeder cage with dad, would the dad feed them? Their would be no nesting box. The babies call to dad all the time and he feeds them in their current cage so I cant see why he wouldnt in the new one, any ideas? I am going away on holidays and it would be easier for my uncle to feed them if They were in a smaller cage without a nest box, can I move them?
  20. This is the only pair I can guess 5. Jake and Jasmine. I'm sold Jake is a Noraml Sky Blue Cock and Jasmine is a Normal Cobalt Blue Hen (don't know split on these either) 50% skyblue 50% cobalt 6. Tex and Sam. I'm told Tex is an Opaline Sky Blue Cock and Sam is a Normal Cobalt Hen. (don't know splits) 50% skyblue 50% opaline call cocks will be normal split opaline all hens will be opaline Anyone care to correct me?
  21. I use budgerigar program and it seems easy to use so I like it. Free version can store up to 200 budgies.
  22. i think the the uk they are alright to breed when they are real old due to the temperatures. im going to keep on breeding these cock birds until they dont fill eggs anymore. they are too good to not get as many young as possibly especially as they are Gazzard birds. Thats what I would do, good luck.
  23. Hi all Starting from saturday I am going to be away for 2 weeks on a holiday down the gold coast. Cant wait :chickendance: :dog:
