  1. Many years ago I had 2 budgies, Felix & Oscar, purchased at the same time. Both were young when I got them... Felix was a green and Oscar a pied (white with blue). I later found out that Oscar wasn't a boy, as I first thought, but that didn't seem to bother HER. LOL! Even though I knew "he" was a she, I still referred to Oscar as "he". Even now it feels funny to say "she" when talking about Oscar. Julie
  2. Here is my flock! Please comment as to what colours they are and any other information you might be able to tell. I'd like to know what you think. okay...... let's see if these work. Dusty (left) and Flash (right): Twinkles (left) and Shilo (right): Thanks for your comments, Julie
  3. okay.... let me rephrase something...lol I'll post photos as soon as I CAN FIGURE OUT how to do it! Julie
  4. Hello All! I'm new here and would like to introduce myself. My name is Julie and I'm originally from the USA. I've had budgies just about all my life, only one or 2 at a time mostly, and also a few cockatiels, a couple finches, and an African grey. Also, I have 2 dogs (I brought 3 with me when I moved to Australia), a cat, and a lovely husband. I haven't had birds for the last 3 years and miss having them, so for my upcoming birthday my husband agreed to let me buy myself a nice cage and 2 pairs of budgies to reside there. So I'm happy to have birdies again! I've never bred my birds but this time I think I'd like to acquire some good information and give it a try this spring if my guys & gals are in good condition and I'm comfortable with it. I used to read a German shepherd message forum for 4 or so years, so I know that heaps of good information gets passed around by so many knowledgable people. I look forward to getting involved here and getting to know you. So, I'll tell you what I know about my birds so far..... I don't know much about all the different types and colours, etc. but will tell you what I was told. I got my 4 budgies over the past 3 days. First... "Dusty" is a grey male hatched in 07 sometime. "Twinkles" is a green... (?)grey green or olive spangle female also hatched 07. "Shilo" is a pied (yellow with a green tummy) female hatched 05. And finally, the unnamed male who is a lovely yellow-face blue hatched 07. Also, I was told that Shilo and the unnamed boy are English budgies, don't know about Dusty and Twinkles. I'll post photos as soon as I get around to resizing them. It will be interesting to get your ideas about what my birds are, learning about them I mean. Just as it was exciting to get a bunch of photos of one of my dogs, for example....... I adopted him when he was a year old and received photos many months later of him and his litter mates when he was only 7 or 8 weeks old! Seeing him when he was a little guy before I knew him. So, to learn a little about my new budgies will be nice. So that's me in a nutshell. I'll be doing lots of lurking around and will post off and on. Julie
