  1. Hi, Thanks for the warm welcome. As far as I can tell the bird is about 1yr old. I'm only saying this due to the fact that we've only had her for approx 5 months & she didn't have her adult feathers when we got her. After reading the responses everyone had provided, I left the egg in the cage. Today she laid her 2nd egg. I'll probably end up getting her a mate later on in the year, but for the monent I'll just leave her be. Thankfully it's Autumn at the moment & the weather is cool with all this rain.
  2. We bought Danni about 5 months ago as a young bird & at the time was told that it was a male. Today we found out that Danni is in fact a female, due to the fact that she has laid an egg. My mother used to breed Budgies back from 1960 - 1990 & over the yrs I've forgotten a lot. My wife & I are wondering Should we just remove the egg or just leave it there ? I can handle Danni easily as she spends a lot of time either sitting on my shoulder or perched on my arm or fingers. She only gets protective when I put my hand too close to her egg. She hasn't been around any other budgies since we bought her. Cheers, DavenRos
