Cheek Spots?
Because Bing is on his own he doesn't have a budgie friend to preen those hard to reach spots and removed the coating. You might need to just give him a gentle rub/scratch on the cheek to help them open.

Puppy Update
He just got her then! I took her with me to go to the shops since I didn't want to leave her on her own and they were home by the time I got back BUT the kids were having a sleep so he decided to have a snooze too. So I snuck in and put her on the bed next to him and he slowly opened his eyes and then the BIGGEST grin you have ever seen spread across his face, it was priceless! :bluebudgie: He has called her Josie (Josephine)

Anyone Ever Had A Bird Fall Off Their Perch
Birds do sometimes fall off the perch. Even the most co-ordinated little guys can have an unco moment. If she is fine in every other way I wouldn't be too worried, maybe the perch she was on was a little too thin for her.

New Flights And Breeding Set Up
Unfortunately it's a bit of a mess at the moment because I've had to shuffle things around in the garage to keep them out of the rain while I'm working. Also because of where the supports are for the roller doors there is only one way I can put the flights in, but I'll make it work somehow

New Flights And Breeding Set Up
So today I emptied the garage out completely (which was no small task!) and I went to bunnings to get the supplies to convert a second hand shed I was given into an aviary. I tried to clean the shed while it was n pieces but it was too difficult so I decided to put it together first. I got the walls up and put the timber frame for the wire front together but I've just discovered that I didn't measure it properly so tomorrow my OH is going to trim the long bit off one edge for me and then I will put the roof on. Once it is all together I'll clean it and then put the wire on, should have it done in the next few days. On Monday my new breeding cages should hopefully arrive at AV's house and I can start organising them too. Next weekend I will be picking up my new BIG aviary. So in the next few weeks my garage should have two large flights (one 2m X 1.6m and one 3m X 2.4m) plus a bank of three large breeding cages that will divide into six if I need extra space and a double wooden breeding cage. Plus of course I will still have my old cages which I can use if space is tight. Wooooohooooooo! The budgies will all be in the garage cages/aviaries and my galahs will move out of their temporary accomodation in to the big outside aviary.

She will only be a baby so we will have plenty of time to train her with him before she gets big.

They don't look quite as droopy when they grow up, they have to grow into their skin

Puppy Update
That's okay, this one can be the watch dog, our other one would probably HELP someone rob the house

Anyone Have A Link To The Show Schedule
Minimum is 50 club rings or 20 of the non-personalised rings (which are a little cheaper), n the future we may keep the club ones just fo our show birds and use the others for pet types but we might as well use them up this year.

Quick, Tell Me Whether This Aviary Is Worth It
Well I have promised myself that I'm not going to accumulate budgies willy nilly so it will be a slow accumulation as I find show type ones that I like..

I Wish I Was Rich!
Also not that cheap if you do the math. We have bought cages similiar but larger for $25 each. If you do the math that's about $2000 for 80 and I seriously doubt it would cost $3500 to get a plumber to set up a self watering system for you.

Eucalyptus
Eucalyptus is a VERY widespread genus here and is commonly fed on by birds wherever it is found. As long as it hasn't been sprayed with insecticides or anything you shoudn't have any problems. Also you can look for Acacias, callistemons or melaleucas

Eucalyptus
Any kind of Eucalyptus should be fine, just make sure it hasn't been sprayed with anything

Quick, Tell Me Whether This Aviary Is Worth It

Quick, Tell Me Whether This Aviary Is Worth It
I have NO idea, that's the main problem that is holding me back from buying it. I don't mind hiring a trailer but I have nothing to tow it with
