Thank you everyone for your kind words and suggestions, we did as you said, she has perked up today and is now drinking by herself and having some seed, she also has been sqwakking when i try and get her out of her cage, she also flew around but ive been keeping her as quiet as possible to get her better, she definatley does look better to what she did. Forgot to mention also that she ate the newspaper in the bottom of her cage before she got sick, she had never done this before... do you know what it means?

Thanks for your offer, but were in Bunbury and I'll have to see maybe if our Big Swamp Bird Park might be able to help? Also we got told from a person that use to breed budgies and canaries that if they might be egg bound to use the baby oil, as it would pass through her and hopefully make it easier to pass, mind you she hadnt poo'ed at all yesterday and giving her that last night has made her go to the toilet. I feel terrible poor little love, ive probably made her worse, any idea's what i can try and feed her?

Hi everyone, just joined and thought id jump on and say g'day! Im the proud owner along with the rest of our family members of a female Budgie named Miss Olly, She is a turquoise/green/black and yellow, she is only about 3 years old and she is fantastic fun, she is always chirping and she gets louder when she hears our voices, anyway hope to get some great advice and learn some new things on the way. By the way looks like a really great forum youve got here! keep up the good work! cheers

Hi everyone, Just joined up, as am in need of some serious suggestions on what might be wrong with our dear budgie Miss Olly, 2 days ago, she regurgitated some seed up, then had her neck bent back, also was swollen under her belly near her Bum! (sorry dont know budgie talk that well) We thought she was egg bound, as she is by herself and every now and again we get an egg from her, we took her to the pet shop and they gave her some spark, which has helped, and a dose of worming in her water. She is looking better, but not eating or drinking we are still using a syringe to give her water, but dont know what to feed her. she is alot lighter and not whistling like she normally does. She's been passing runny poo's but they are not your normal looking ones, mind you we did use some baby oil in her water last night. She keeps moving her head forward like she's going to fly but she just sits their????? The pet shop doesnt reckon she's egg bound, but any suggestions on what we can feed her, or what might be wrong with our little baby Miss olly would be forever grateful. thanks again!
