  1. Thats great MB!!! Look forward to seeing them when I pick up Lip and Len and the babies
  2. does it look like food that is blocking it?? Might be a bit of food that he is trying to feed... got a photo??
  3. Came across these budgie calenders, there is one for exhibition budgies and one for normal pet type... http://adorablebudgies.co.uk/cal.php They are only downloadable ones, but it made me think... my sister got a calender done with her kids photo's in it, I thought it was great. Might have to give her one of my birds in a couple of years time when I have more For those in clubs it might be a way to make a bit of money on the side, sell calenders with members birds photo's in it and then have the important dates to remember in the calender... That would be great. Just a thought...
  4. I have looked at the website they don't talk about any birds with red or pink faces so I am guessing that the bird has eaten something red or pink...
  5. Well I've been busy searching the web and looking at the breeders over in Europe and England's set ups and I've noticed a lot of them are using plastic cages, I am guessing this is to stop the bugs and mites that are associated with wood... It appears these are the most popular http://www.oesieg.de/intro/default_e.html So the question I'm asking is... Are they available in Australia? If so where can you get them from? Does Anyone here use them? Thanks guys
  6. hope he is okay. looking forward to the video
  7. I went to the Melbourne Zoo the other day and was told this by one of the Zoologists: They had two groups of meercats that they needed to house together, but as you may know they are very territorial and have very close family groups... what the zoo did was walked passed the enclosure with birds of prey a couple of times... the meercats stopped fighting each other to protect themselves from the common danger... I wouldn't recommend that for your birds But like maesie said time time and more time Good luck and keep us posted..
  8. We missed the forums birthday guys!!! We are now officially 6 years old!!! Thank you to Adam aka ~The Netsta~ for founding this site and keeping it going, not an easy job. Thanks to all the Mods for telling me off and keeping us on our toes To the site promoters you do a great job too! To the actual BBC and its members thanks for allowing this site to continue on. I for one a very grateful to everyone on here you have all helped me have a very enjoyable time here on the forum and taught me a lot as well. You're what makes this place fun to come back to. So three cheers for the BBC forums, :3: and I hope there are many more to come!!!
  9. Well I know I am a few days early but I figured I'd get a start on it What I was thinking was, who is going to have the first baby in 2009!?! Please post here the time and date you noticed your chick and then we'll be able to tell who had the first '09 baby! Those that are in show business have you got your '09 rings yet? That can be the other thing, who is the first to ring a chick in '09 Look forward to seeing who the lucky person is
  10. hope it starts clearing up soon... if not a trip to the other might be the right idea...
  11. I currently have 2 birds that I am breeding with MB... I won't be doing much breeding next year... maybe get 1 or 2 more pairs.... The pairs I have with MB are: Green Cinnamon Opaline Cock x Green series Lacewing Green Normal x Green spangle. I am not really looking for anything in particular... I love lacewings, but really I want a nice combination of everything at this stage
  12. How can it be split if it is a hen?? Wouldn't it be masking those gene's??
  13. Yep, they do grow a lot very quickly don't they... They are very cute kaz
  14. How old are these guys? doesn't the '09 show calender end in September '09??
  15. just a couple I'd be very happy with anything like any of those...
  16. They look great kaz, looking real good.
  17. welcome to the forums, I hope you find the site very enjoyable!!! It really is a fun place and there is a tonne of information. welcome!
  18. They look awesome!!!
  19. I wouldn't say it was 50% I've only ever hear about 5 people call it a harlequin...
  20. wow! Looks like a green series! Thats cool.
  21. okay... well I'm going to say it looks like a TCB split to ino cock.... I have no idea but If I'm right I said it first
  22. I thought YF and goldenface was only in blue series birds??
  23. well I looked at your profile and couldn't see your bird but no matter how big the bird is you will still have smaller birds if you pair with a pet type... If you are expecting a great show type then that won't happen, if you want a nice pet bird it will work
  24. As long as you're not going in there regularly to pick it up the hen will be fine... just make sure you tap on the nest box to give her fair warning that you are coming in... once at the start of the day and once at the end of the day is fine...
