  3. I do find it interesting that people prefer males over females... I guess if they are easier to tame and stuff like people say though...
  4. It would be worth looking into as far as price is concerned... I send them an email asking if they had any suppliers in Australia, I doubt they do so I think it will be a case of making it from scratch like you say... hmmm so much to think about...
  5. That's what I'm thinking too trish... have you tried cleaning it??
  6. If there arn't any on here then you could contact your local Budgie club and ask there... for your closest club check out http://www.budgerigar.com.au/bsnswbranches.htm good luck with the search..
  7. Have you tried any breeders near you? I say that because you will probably find a breeder cheaper and you'll get better information. I have never been to the place you mentioned but generally breeders are the way to go...
  8. Don't you love genetics pearce... you almost had it... Like Dave said, If you have a normal green cock it can be split to a sex linked gene, but if you have a normal green hen she can't be. I think that's right anyways I used to think that hens couldn't be split for anything but apparently it is only sex linked genes that they can't be split for...
  9. I would imagine that it would drastically reduce the risk of mites and the like... I just have no idea where to start with the idea... I guess like you say hills contact a plastics supplier and see what I can get from them... if anyone else has any luck please keep me posted... Surely there would be someone out there that has done it already... I can't have come up with such a wonderful money making idea...
  10. good job hills.
  11. So really it would be possible for any of your crest bred normals to have crested babies? Wow that would be hard to keep track of... have a good time with that
  12. looking good MB! So bring me up to speed on the crested gene... does it work just like the other recessive gene's? I am guessing it is recessive...
  13. I won't be paying euro for it though Trish

  15. Great minds think alike Kaz...
  16. ahh so complicated I'll try and keep up
  17. You'll be able to tell better after the first moult... they do tend to get more colour after that...
  18. really??? When does this years start? I thought the '09 year went from January till September...
  19. yeah if you go to the catalog tab on the page, go down to nest boxes or even the breeding cage, they are made of plastic and aluminium.. They have some links to people who use there products... some pretty good achievers there...
  20. Like MB said just make sure they are covered on 3 sides and they should be fine. you don't want the car to get to hot but other than that they should do fine..
  21. here's hoping. I'll try and find the picture that I saw of the bird... I made a mistake it was the '07 bird.... http://www.budgerigar.ch/about_us/marcel/a...07/bilder/8.jpg
