  3. good luck with everything Oki. I really hope that your bird is okay. I can't believe they are selling birds that young!?! I can't believe a breeder would sell birds to a petshop that young either!! Irresponsible on both their behalves... for you and your little one...
  4. for you. like Kaz said, over here some pet shops say they are selling babies when infact they arn't so hopefully in this case they are lieing because a 3 week old baby wouldn't be doing great right now if it hadn't been fed. just read your post... when you say his feathers are just starting to come in do you mean he looks like the birds in my signature below??

  7. The parents arent in the picture here JB Sorry Kaz I should've been clearer, I meant that Oki would need to trust her girlfriends parents very much and know that they know what they are doing when they feed the bird...
  8. I just wish I could try and play choplin or Beethoven... Its all good, maybe one day.
  9. what are you feeding the bird? at 3 weeks old they are still not fledged so you'd have to trust the parents very much and know that they know what they are doing...

  14. great job Pearce... just a question any idea what causes the birds to all hatch a day after each other, I thought usually they have a day in between, right?

  18. Well I haven't given an update on Len in a while so I figured I would. I went back to the vet today because he (vet assured me he is a he) hasn't been putting on any weight. so I got taught how to do a crop feed. It was a little tricky but I go there eventually. Len is still on some antibiotics that the vet gave me but I am hopeing that he will begin to improve sooner rather than later. Oh And they said that according to all their tests that they did it is liver disease... they said that was common in ino/lacewing birds. I asked if it was likely that he would improve and if the liver could recover like in humans and they said it could but it still would be weak. They want me to move to a pelleted diet... They also said to make sure he stays warm for the time being, which I've been trying to do. I am just wondering what I could do to set up a hospital cage with a stronger light than a normal desk lamp... any idea's?
  19. very nice Daz...
  20. yeah I wondered about this... I'm not sure what sort of heat the other globes produce... maybe a resident electrician might know...

  25. On the French Moult theory that doesn't make sense that they clear up after being moved on to another nest... And I'm pretty sure Dave's chick wasn't FM....
