  1. great thread KAZ. It's great to be able to look at the progression of a single chick in the one post. And what a fantastic looking bird he is... :laughter:
  2. Selective Breeding is definately the easier and safer way to go... it stops all the current problems you are having with your aggresive Hen. I would agree with Liv and say take the aggressive hen out for the time being. It is always a possibility that other hens will then take the place of the already aggressive one but the less hens you have and the more nestboxes the better Easier to remove one hen than a hen and her chicks/egss. Good luck and I hope to see you round here alot more. P.S. We LOVE pictures :laughter:
  3. I'd read that somewhere to pearce...
  4. Looking good, That is very nice of them to help you guys build. Good idea with your herbs! Looks good.
  5. I agree with the others. An I right in saying some of the babies will be grey green or do both parents have to be grey green in order gor the grey to come through? Genetics really isn't my thing... Good luck with it all!
  6. what is her current diet? Does she have eggshell and things mixed into her food to help with calcium? It might help if we know what she is currently eating... KAZ mentioned being egg bound, you might want to read up on the different topics regarding this. Good luck with it all and I hope she doesn't become egg bound...
  7. She might be wanting to lay again... they normally lay more than one egg...
  8. I'm not experienced enough to answer this one but I look forward to hearing what people say... sorry to hear about the egg...
  9. Up to you... for future breeding it can be very helpful to have rings on the birds... It really depends on what you want to use the rings for, somepeople use different colours to signify different mutations and stuff... (ie. Spangles purple, pieds, green...) helps if they are split to something...
  10. Great photo's... very hard to get but you did well.
  11. haha well I am hopeless at picking gender so I'll leave that for someone else... are you planning on putting the old split rings back on them or just getting new ones to put on them??
  12. Did you use a flash?? Do you remember which one you thought was a hen before the split rings came off?? How do you know there names if you can't tell them apart?
  13. hmmm I'm not sure.. hopefully someone will be able to help you soon. good luck. is it bleeding much or just red now?
  14. you're so patient Kaz... let me know if you come accross a brain in working order...
  15. okay.. Thanks for that Kaz. So O'Conner & Turner are the Breeders of No. 2 but it's parents were Gazzard bloodlines?? Is that right?
  16. Will we have the honour of seeing a picture??
  17. Can I ask how you get your own Blood Line? Does that mean they have line bred the birds or does it simply mean that they bred it??

  20. Great Job Ladies! Congrats... As if we needed anymore proof that woman more than men...
  21. I thought there was a bit of a gap between when egg 2 was laid and egg 3 was laid wasn't there like a 3 or 4 day gap?? I'd leave them there... hopefully they'll hatch soon...
  22. Yeah, I'm thinking I would gladly pay 65 for number 2 that bird is gorgeous! Good job KAZ.
  23. JKaz is right we have everything here... just need to look But we do need to know what colours you like... Go through the Members Birds threads and see what ones you like, then ask and someone should be able to tell you what to breed to get it..
