Snuggles
Hi.... been awhile since i have posted... I just found this post i made a year ago and thought i would let you know what he ended up being LOL. but.... Today we lost our Snuggles ... Snuggles ended up being a boy in the end and was such a beautiful and friendly boy. He would chat away all the time. Everyone that entered the house commented on how good he was. We had an unfortunate accident... and Snuggles was taken by the Cat. It is a long story involving kids that shouldnt have been inside. My husband basically went off his face at all the kids including the neighbours kids. Back to Sunnie to obtain another beautiful budige.

Snuggles Is Home
We picked her up from Sunnie's on Friday night - in the end i was more excited that Jessica!Poor Sunnie though - i have bombarded her with emails with lots of questions and reassurances! LOLWhen we got to Sunnie's - Snuggles was a real character! We put her in her new cage and she was doing acorbatics all over the place and would let me touch her through the wire.Since we took her home - she has mellowed out alot - and a bit unsure of us. Today Jessica took her into her room and Snugs sat on a shelf and when Jess went near her she would try and nip her. So Jess went to get some seed and grated carrot and she started pecking at it - so Jess is convinced she was just hungry! When we get her out the cage - she tries to back away from us but then when we do get her out she snuggles into our chest and nearly goes to sleep. She might then get bored and fly off - which is one question i need to ask - I really think i should get her wings clipped because she is going to really knock herself out soon! She bumps into everything! We are so grateful to Sunnie - We are so in love with our new baby girl :)I forgot to mention - Snuggles has started to chirp away. She ends up going crazy at times - is that a bad chirp when the sound all cross and frustrated? Its like she is screaming at us to shut up cos she is talking! (Laughing out loud)

Having Bad Luck...
I would like to thank everyone that replied and i have found the BEST breeder in the South I met Sunnie tonight and her flock. Sunnie - i wish to god i had met you a year ago when we got our first bird. Jessica is so excited about getting a baby from you and i know this is going to be a heaps better experience for her.

Disinfecting A Cage
As i have posted in a previous post - my daughter's budgie has just died - i thought he had scaly face but the vet seemed to think he had beak & feather disease. He suggested i disinfect the cage and leave it with no birds in it for 2 months. Does that sound right? My daughter is anxious to get a new baby and one from a proper breeder this time as im sure the pet shop sold us a dodgy bird - well 2 because the previous one died that we got from there too! okay so back to my cage. The budgie was only in it for 3 days tops as we brought him a new cage on Sunday.

Having Bad Luck...
Aww thank you so much - you are very sweet! Do you think i just clean the cage with Dettol and leave in the sun for a few days be enough? He was only in this cage for 3 days. I threw the other cage out - the one that had him and the other bird in it for a while. Sonya

Having Bad Luck...
Thanks Libby I have messaged Sunnie but i guess she is in bed now where i should be! (Laughing out loud) I found the vet very helpful and honest so that was a good thing - he told my daughter that she did a good job of looking after him which made her smile through her tears and let her have a last hold before taking him away. We just brought him a bigger cage on Sunday - the Vet suggested we thoroughly disinfenct it and have it in the sun to get rid of any diseases that might be lingering . I look forward to hearing from Sunnie

Having Bad Luck...
My 11yo daughter had a budgie we got from a Pet Shop but after a few months he got really sick and died. He was very limp and shaking and his eyes were all swollen over. We brought her another budgie (from the same pet shop). She fell in love again and he was very tame at first. I had a few issues about his behaviour though - he seems to tremble alot down one side - i took him back to the shop but they said it was just fear and he was okay while there - he also had a bit of a funny foot - looked swollen and his beak looked dry and cracking. He seemed okay apart from that - he would love to sing when we had loud music on. Is that not good for budgies? Loud music? Anyhow last week i noticed that his beak was getting crusty and yuk - so i got some scaly face oinment to put on it. He got worse the last few days and alot of patches of his skin was showing. We took him to the vet and he suggested to put him down after telling us he had beak and feather disease. My daughter is devastated! She wants a budgie she can handle and get to talk to her. Any advice?? Any breeders in the South of Adelaide?? Sonya
