Hi, My name is Kathy, and I am also new to this forum. I'm excited because there seems to be so much information here, and so little elsewhere. Also, I am from the generation for whom computers have been somewhat a challenge, so please be patient! I have 2 budgies, Sunny and Sweetpea, and they are just the cutest little guys. They can keep me entertained for long periods of time. In fact, I have to be careful not to just stay talking and watching them all day. They do such funny things sometimes that I have to laugh out loud. Both birds are approx. 8 mos. old, and I have had them since they were approx. 10 weeks old. They have been moulting, and are consequently losing that fluffy, baby bird look. I cannot keep them in the same cage because they fight, but the cages are next to each other, and they seem to communicate. They are lively, funny, talkative, cheerful, playful, beautiful...and I guess that means they are regular budgies! I love them. I'm from Albuquerque, New Mexico, and though I didn't grow up in Albuq., have spent the biggest part of my life in New Mexico. I lived and worked in Salt Lake City, Utah for 15 years, and to my surprise, I liked it very much. It was hard to leave, but my elderly parents started needing help, and I moved to Albuq. to take care of them full time. The budgies have been just great for me and my parents as well. I worried at first, but they won the hearts of my folks in very short order. I'm so glad I found this site, and hope I can contribute to our group knowledge of budgies. Kathy T.
