  1. I have a similar situation. The budgie I have is tame and I have had him for about 1 year, he wasn't handreared but we worked really hard with him and now he is great! I really would like to get another budgie and house them together. I have been told it is better to get a handreared bird and they should be fine. the budgie I already have loves spending time out of his cage with me and I really want both of them to be tame and to enjoy being with me. Is it possible to have 2 tame birds housed together?? Or will they just stay together??

Thanks for your advice, just thought i would ask as i want him to be happy but also have a good relationship with me. I will make a new toy for him tonight (hopefullly not one that looks anything like a girl budgie !) and take out the other one. Thanks

Bossy does that too when we put him in his cage to go to bed and he also squawks when we try and put the cover on. It is definately his way of saying "I'M NOT TIRED!!!" "LET ME BACK OUT OF THE CAGE". he also does it during the day for exercise, but without the racket and carry-on that we get when trying to put him to bed

Yeah he is fine with us going near the toy but i suppose it probably won't stay like that ...oh well have to do what is best for him. So it is not that this behaviour is unhealthy for them, it is that they can become aggressive??

Thanks Kaz But he doesn't have any mirrors in the cage and i took all the reflective bells off his toys when he was small, this toy is made of rope and beads and the bell i put on the bottom of the toy is not reflective...this is why i can't work out why he is sooo attached or how to stop him  boy budgies see their reflections in all kinds of things. Think like a budgie and see if you can work out what part of the toy he is attracted to and make that part either gone from the cage or so ugly he falls out of love with it PS they also fall in lust with fuzzy rope. randy little boy! i wanted to take the toy out of the cage but my fiance says to leave it in as he may resent us for taking it out. Is it unhealthy for them? we took a toy out of his cage and put it in his play gym as he wouldn't comeout of his cage once i put this toy in and he didn't speak to us for ages. i make alot of toys for him and change them around so he doesn't get bored and normally he loves having new toys but he does get attached to some.

Hi All, Boss has taken a liking to one of the toys in his cage . We first noticed he was having his way with the toy as it has a bell on the bottom and we could hear it ringing . It started off a couple of times a day and now it is all the time! i had a look in his cage yesterday and there was a huge pile of what looked like seed in the bottom of the cage underneath the toy. It didn't come out of his seed container as it was far away. i have been reading that budgies regurgitate there seed when they try and feed a mate, but i was just curious if this is what it was and if it is healthy for them to regurgitate so much seed? Also should i leave the toy in the cage and will he settle down eventually? Any advice would be great thanks
  8. Thanks, but i don't really have to do much to get a photo of him. He sees the camera and just poses!! :what: Think he knows he is handsome ha ha ha I submitted the flight photo because that was the hardest one to get!
  9. Hi Elly, Sorry about the size of the photos, having problems with photobucket. but i think i have it right now
  10. I'm not sure, we took him in when he was a baby and my cousin couldn't look after him anymore. So I'm not sure of his parents. If anyone could tell me what type he is that would be great?????

Hi everyone, i went a bit made with the camera on the weekend and didn't know what to do with the photos, so i thought i would post some here because i think he is such a handsome little man (well i am pretty sure he is a boy now, but if i need to be corrected please do). He is about 11 months old and growing up really fast. He is a cheeky little one, but we love him :hap: Boss flying around like a mad man as usual. http://i464.photobucket.com/albums/rr6/Cla...ssinFlight2.jpg Boss puffing out his chest My beautiful boy

He is out of the cage whenever we are at home but i want something that he will be comfortable in while we are at work. I know where they sell some good cages at a good price here in Perth. I will check there later today and get back to you on type and price if still available that would be great i could only find one on ebay and it was pick up only in Melbourne

  15. Hi All, I am looking for a new house for my little one. I found a couple on Ebay: http://cgi.ebay.com.au/OPEN-TOP-BLACK-or-W...1742.m153.l1262 http://cgi.ebay.com.au/OPEN-TOP-ELEGANT-PA...1742.m153.l1262 However the bar spacing is 1.6cm. I have one budgie and not sure if that spacing is too big? If there is anyone that knows of a good shop in Perth WA or website that ships to Perth WA that sells safe and nice indoor budgie cages please let me know. All of the ones I have found so far in shops are plastic and really small. Any suggestions are appreciated
