Budgies Not Eating Grass
I planted some budgie seed in a pot and now it has sprouted and looks like grass i put the pot in the aviary but the birds are not interested in it. it has been there for 2 weeks now. Do Budgies eat grass grown from their seeds, if i pick grass from my lawn and put in the cage they eat it so do they only eat certain types of grass and which ones do they like.

Aviary Advice
i will hose the pavers and with my yard being on a slope the water will run behind the aviary where i have a heap of trees so they will get watered when i clean the aviary.

Aviary Advice
i just use a little shovel and bucket and pick up all the poo and other mess the budgies have made. i do it every second day but still takes me a while so that is another reason why i am changing to pavers.

Feathers Thinning Out.
Jake feathers on his chest seems to be disappearing, could this be just part of a bad moult or old age. i do not know how old he is, i got given him a couple of years ago and my sister had him for 3 years before she gave him to me. he was orginally purchased from a pet shop as a adult. he was the one who injured his wing and had the cysts back in feb, the cysts have gone and he is flying well now so he is eating lots and no pooey bottom but has a scruffy look to him so what could cause this.i checked him over and he does not have mites.

you are welcome to the rain, i have been enjoying the sun and got the aviary cleaned today. i have been browsing ebay for pavers, working out if it is cheaper to put down pavers or concrete the base.

Aviary Advice
Thanks for the advice, i think the idea of lifting the aviary up and putting on blocks sounds good. We did not think it would flood like it did, we do not normally get this much rain but we have blue sky today. Yeah!

Aviary Advice
The aviary floor is level but the problem is our yard is on a little slope so when it rains all the water runs down to the bottom of the yard which is where the aviary is. We cannot build on the top side because it is too close to the neighbours house.
