Laverne,what Colour Is She?
i do want to breed with her and i love her colours but i do not know enough about genetics to work out what would be a good male for her. none of my males are split for opaline or opaline, they are spangles so i think i will need to purchase some more males.

Laverne,what Colour Is She?
Thanks, i did not realise that cinnamon changes their blue colouring, if i wanted opaline babies i would have to get a male opaline, i am still trying to work out the sex linked genes. i have already submitted her photo to budgie of the month, i think she is gorgeous.

To Introduce Or Not Introduce A New Budgie?
they are in the same cage, they are very close, they preen each other and feed each other. when they are out of their cage they both love sitting on my shoulder together.

Laverne,what Colour Is She?
I am just wondering what colour you would say Laverne is, Dave told me she is a cinnamon wing opaline but i cannot remember what colour he said she was. i love her colours because she is different to all my other budgies, i have sky blues but she does not look like them.i am just wanting to know her colour so i can look at what other budgie i would need to purchase to pair with her when she is older.

To Introduce Or Not Introduce A New Budgie?
i have 2 tame male budgies that are both talkers, i had my first boy for 12 months before i introduced the other male and i made sure i talked to them heaps and the second male a couple of months ago starting talking.

My 4 Little Budgies
i decide to take some photos this morning for Dave to show how they are going, they are so fun to watch the way they relate to each other, Laverne the opaline is the boss and poor Shirley seems to have the job of preening the 2 male pieds. They only have a week and a half left and then they get moved to the aviary. a picture of the 4 of them enjoying breakfast, they love fresh corn Shirley has decide the swing is hers, the picture is a bit blurry because she loves swinging on it. Laverne is my favourite, i love her colour.

This Week

i was given 2 new budgies today, named B1 and B2. i know that B1 is a sky blue spangle but B2 is what i am wondering about it, after reading about mutations i think she is df spangle but i am correct or not.

Getting 2 New Budgies Today
the 4 babies are going well but they can hear the birds in the avairy so they are eager i think to go and see them. Laverne and Shirley is right but the boys are Laurel and Hardy, Laverne the opaline female is so bossy and the male pieds are starting to be a bit afraid of her, they move very quickly when she squawks at them. i am up early because Lucy decided that 6am was time to get out of bed, what is your excuse, you have no little kids to pull you out of bed.

Getting 2 New Budgies Today
i am feeling very lucky at the moment, after Dave gave me 4 of his baby budgies, a friend last night asked me if i wanted 2 budgies that her boss gave her but she does not have the time to look after them. i just had to say yes, please. i know they are male and female and one is white with black eyes. i will post pics when i get them so you can help me with they types they are. i will be picking them up today and i also get the cage as well.in the last 3 weeks i will have generously been given 6 budgies, yeah.in the 6 months since i have been part of this forum my budgie numbers have gone from 7 to 18, i think my husband better hurry up and finish my other aviary.

i found colwestern seemed to be the cheapest in the newcastle area, mine is the 2.4m x 1.7m x 1.8m and they are so easy to put together. Hopefully your wife will let you get a aviary.

Budgies Not Eating Grass
i tried picking some roots and all and put it in there vegie dish to try to encourage them to eat it, they ate the vegies and did not touch the grass.if i pick normal lawn grass they will eat it so are some birds fussy

Budgies Not Eating Grass
i use long plastic ones, it took them about 2 months before they ate vegies when i first introduced them so maybe i just have birds that are wary of anything new.
