Thanks for advice, my husband starting tomorrow is going to be home for the next couple of days, looks like he will be helping me to do some renovations to the aviary. i might see if i can block the ends of the log because they love sitting on the top of it.

I have been bathing Jake's beak and putting antiseptic cream on it every day but i noticed this morning it is looking worse. i was wondering should he see a vet and be put on antibiotics or is there nothing a vet could do for it but i just have to wait for it to heal by itself. He is eating fine and poos are normal so it is not upsetting him.

You have a point there i have been wondering about, are show types more aggressive than pet types. I have had bickering in my avairy before but never fighting which result in major injuries. A couple of months ago i bought 4 show types and now i am having fights between show types and my pet types are getting hurt. I am considering seeing i not planning on showing budgies whether to get rid of the show ones and just have pet types.The pet types will bicker but not chase each other to continue fighting like the show type. Jake my pet type that got hurt could not fly so i found him hiding in a seed container with the show type giving him a hiding.Ripped part of his beak off.

i am hoping him will come around, i plead with him last night to let me get one more. i have not got a violet coloured one and i really would love a violet, does not matter what type just a violet. So i make him a nice baked dinner and after 2 glasses of wine i got a yes to buying a violet.

After the fighting in the aviary and the breeding problems my husband has banned me from buying anymore budgies He says i have too many budgies in my avairy and that is why they where fighting. i only have 20 and the aviary is 2.4m x 1.8m. he is going to build me another aviary and breeding room and i have to put half the birds in one aviary and half in the other. i will have to just breed mine and keep the babies because then i am not obtaining more birds by buying them. He has told me i have to sell any budgies i breed but we will see about that. Problem Husbands

it sounds like you are going to have limit sleep for a little while.

i hope it all works out for you so you can find a way to keep your budgies safe from rats and mice.

That would have freak me seeing a bunny laying like that.

Cute Photos, Do you give them fresh peas or canned, i have never try giving peas to my birds.

my budgies do it, i love listening to them because it show me they are happy and healthy. my husband hates them doing it at night when he is trying to watch Stargate so he covers them up.

Seeing she is still playful it sounds like once she gets used to the puppy they will have lots of fun together.

That is cute that the bunny went and played with her. Is your other dog a older dog who is passed that playful stage.

Roxy has moved into a little cage now because she kept climbing out of her container. She is 4 weeks old now and i am thinking of starting to wean her or is she still too young. I have millet spray in her cage but she is not showing any interest in it and i have sprinkle seed in the bottom of her cage but she is not peeking at that either.

I am so sorry to hear of your situation AV, i hope your sister and her boyfriend will listen to you and understand how important it is for the 18 month old to stay away from the birds. i really feel sorry for the child, she is touching the birds because she is bored and does not understand the proper way to behave because her parents are not taking their responsibilties seriously. i know my 4 and 2 year old if i do not give them things to do and leave them to look after themselves will chase my cats because they are bored.

Thanks Dave for showing me the photos of the brother. Mozzarella looks similar to Laurel and Hardy. Geo's colour change is interesting, my 2 YF type 2's that you have seen are green.

It is not bleeding but i can see inside his mouth through the side. I am concerned that the stress of the attack might kill him, he is shaking and sleeping but he is still sitting on a perch in his hospital cage which is a good sign i hope.

Thanks Kaz, i have enough spare cages to put her by herself. Fighting birds was just what i needed to top of the last couple of weeks i have had with the breeding problems. Also do budgies beck's grow back, Jack has lost one side of his top beck in the fight. he is still eating and drinking which is good.
