  1. Here is a couple of pics of the parents, i will ask Jenene to take some more pics of the baby but i will not be able to get them till this afternoon.
  2. I started my own topic with pics of the one i am talking about it. Sorry MB for jumping into your topic with pics of my birds.
  3. I just wanted to show some pics of my spangle that was born with plum eyes that Norm was interested in seeing. I would also be interested in other peoples opinions. When i posted pics of him as a baby, Daz mentioned that cinnamon eyes can be a sign of a df spangle so i was very excited because i really wanted a df spangle but he has turned out with white wings and head but a blue colouring on his chest. he has no check spots. He is gorgeous but i am wondering what exactly is his mutation then and what would have caused the plum eyes as a baby? He definitly had plum eyes, it was not the flash on the camera.
  4. Deb a picture of that bird would be interesting, if it started out with Plum eyes & then turned out the colour you say, I think it would be worth us having a look at it. Sounds a bit like one of Daz's DF Melanistic Spangles. i will try to get a photo of it, it is at Jenene,s at the moment with a foster hen because it came from the pair i was having problems with so i will ask her for the lastest photo of it.

Thanks Elly because when he first starting it he was moulting and it was not very often, i ignored it and thought it would just stop when he stopped moulting but i was wrong. I will tried what you did with Merlin, i do not believe in pushing his beak either. With the budgies Runt is boss, Runt was bullying him yesterday so much that Tweety was hiding under furniture to get away from him. Somtimes they are very close and feed each other and then other days if Runt wakes up on the wrong side of the cage he is mean and Tweety is scared of him. Could the way that Runt treats Tweety be the reason that Tweety bites?

Tweety has always had a tendency to bite, he will be happily sitting on your shoulder and then decides to bite on your neck or ear. He has never bit me only my children and hubby. It started a few months ago when he was moulting but he has finished moulting and still doing it but getting worse. He bite my daughters nose last night and my 4 year olds lip and drew blood in both cases. How can i teach him that it is not acceptable behaviour? My 4 year old is scared of him now. It is not like my kids pick him up and he does not like it so bites. They will be sitting on the lounge watching telly and he climbs on the lounge and on to them and then goes up to their face and bites. He does not do it everytime so they think he is being friendly and coming to talk to them but you never know what he will do.
  7. Very pretty babies, i love the dom pied.
  8. That is so cute, my budgies love the keyboard as well. Last week i had to use my hubbys work laptop because he was rebuilding my computer but the problem was when he took it back to work and opened it there was a little surprise waiting for him, i did not realise that they had poo on it.
  9. One of my chicks from the spangle i paired had plum eyes and Daz mentioned that df spangles can start with cinnamon eyes that develop to black as they get older . My chicks has ended up having white wings and head with a light blue colour in its chest.i hope you get a df spangle, i was hoping to breed one and didnt.

I just had to hire the movie, the Water Horse and Alvin and the Chipmunks after everyone was talking about them. i have four kids and only one of them, my eldest who is 12 like the Water Horse. They all love Alvin and the Chipmunks. The Bee movie was another favourite.

Thanks Libby for all your help with Roxy, you really gave me some great advice. I will keep a eye on her crop but she really hates me hand feeding her.

We have finally made progress, the last few days i have had to hold Roxy firmly and feed her with a syringe with her chirping cranky at me and getting more food on her than in her mouth. At night she would feed herself but would not eat during the day but today she has finally decided to start eating out of her containers and eat her seed. She is finally weaned, Yeah. She is also flying better , she flies longer now before she goes splat.
  13. It depends upon the budgie, some budgies will stop talking once they hear another budgie around where as some still talk. It is the same with the socialising, all budgies react differently to new budgeis being introduced to the house.

i know everyone is probably Roxy'd out but i had to show some pics. She has just reached that playful age and she is so cute to watch. She thinks it is more fun to scratch the seed out of the container than eat it. She is funny to watch when she tries to climb to the top of her cage but keeps losing her grip and goes sliding down the bars.

Tweety and Runt have their wings clipped so i put the rope on for them to able to climb up. Tweety loves climbing up and down the rope.
  20. They are all grown up and fully feathered. They are so cute.

Normally she likes her handraising formula but she is being stubborn and not wanting to eat it either. I have been able to get a lttle bit into her during the day by handfeeding her but at night is when she seems to like to eat and will feed herself until she is bulging. She was out tonight playing with Tweety and Runt, Tweety tries to stay away from her but Runt is fascinated in her.

She has woke up this morning and decided to be strong willed and not eat but Libby said that this stage she is going through will last a few days.
  25. Poor Neat, getting hassled on her first day of her new job. What about a budgie guessing comp, post pics of a few members pet budgies and we have to work out the name of the budgie and the owners name.
