I was just browsing ebay for roofing sheets and i did a search for colourbond and there is a cheap aviary for sale. Sorry i do not know how to post links but they have spelt aviary wrong so if you do a search for avery or colourbond hopefully you will see it. It has only 2 days to go and the bid at the moment is only $51.Wish i was in melbourne.
  2. I am sorry to hear that there has been another holdup with the car,i hope you are able to get it soon.
  3. They sound so cute. i love watching my babies at this age, i love the way they play. My 2 little ones think it is fun to scratch all the seed out of the container and then sit in the empty dish.
  4. They are 5 months old and the sisters like Dave said have brown and crusty ceres so maybe they are males then. They both had purple ceres and then they have changed to a browny colour so it got me confused about their gender.
  5. Thanks MB, that is a great idea.
  6. They were not biting too hard, the gloves are to protect me from Violet, my handraised budgie who does not like sharing me with the other birds. If i am holding another budgie she will landed on my hand and bite me continually very hard to make me let go of the other bird.
  7. I get confused as well because i find it hard to tell the 2 apart in the aviary. One of them has been trying to mate with his sister but i do not know which one. Both had purple ceres when they were younger. I cannot work out pieds at all when it come to the gender of them.
  8. The 2 pieds that Dave gave me he said were male but their cere are starting to go brown but they do not have white rings around their nostrils. Can someone tell me if they are male or female? The one in the top picture also has a flatter cere than the bottom one.
  9. i am totally confused now as well because they do look different from different angles.
  10. They are cute babies Maesie, i think you have boys and girls there. i will take a guess at what i think but i probably have half wrong. picture 2 girl picture 3 boy picture 4 maybe girl picture 5 both boys picture 6 girl on left, boy on right
  11. I hope the little one will be okay, in my last clutch my youngest was born 5 days after the first 3 and he got stood on by the older ones and got injured and ended up dying but the hen was doing a shocking job of looking after them.
  12. That is exciting, you will be very busy checking lots of nestboxes and babies soon.
  13. That is so cute, it must be nice to have deers hanging around your house.
  14. Congratulations on getting a new car.
  15. It is great that it is a df spangle, I am interested in seeing how it turns out. My little guys eyes changed to black when he was 3 weeks old.

I am suprised that even though Roxy is around he still is saying words, do hens talk at all because i was wondering if i will be able to teach Roxy to talk. She sits in her cage listening to Tweety and Runt saying hello to each other.

Runt loves chatting to his toy even though he has another bird to talk to. It is very cute. I thought that Runt and Tweety would stop talking once Roxy joined them in the loungeroom but they still are both talking. Even though i had Tweety first Runt talks more than Tweety now. http://s221.photobucket.com/albums/dd44/Mi...=Picture129.flv
  18. It is so cute and tiny, i am glad you had a nice suprise when you got home.
  19. The boy looks too cute and tiny be called King Birdy
  20. My babies are weaned so have come back home. Thank you Jenene for being so generous and helping me. You have taken great care of them and i am very grateful to you. They are so cute and tiny compared to Roxy. I think Roxy likes her food a bit too much. Still have not worked out names yet, My 4 year old wanted to call them King Birdy and Prince Birdy but that will not work seeing one is a girl.
  21. Seeing Dave is heading your way, i might have to send him with a shopping list for me.
  22. They are beautiful birds and you are lucky to have a husband who will buy you that many birds.
  23. Congratulations Libby and Elly
  24. I was thinking the same way as you last night MB,as soon as i saw the orange beak i thought the first hen i pair him with when he is old enough will be a pied so i will be able to test if it does mean he is carrying the pied gene.
  25. Something i did not notice but Daz pointed out from the picture he saw in MB's post is that he has a orange beak so is that normal for a spangle or is he carrying pied.
